While Doeflame was still gazing around the new camp, Dawnstar told them news she had been waiting for. They were attacking RiverClan. She had been in some fights recently, which had calmed her cravings to fight someone, but she was still eager. Unfortunately, the exciting announcement was followed by a disappointing one. No going out of camp alone. Oh well, she liked socialising, so it wasn't too bad, at least. Maybe she should organise a patrol, take Shadowpaw out too to compensate for the lack of training she had given her.

Then Mistlewhisker called for attention, giving them instructions. Doeflame wasn't a rule-follower, but making a nest wasn't too bad. So picking up the ragged moss, she padded into the hollow of the warrior's den.

It was more spacious then she'd thought, but it would still be cosy with all the warriors sleeping in it. Doeflame set to work, reconstructing the moss into a proper bed. She didn't really like the work, but it had to be done. Unfortunately.

Ashkit stared at Doeflame, blinking in awe. They were mesmerised by Doeflame’s ability to turn the moss into a bed.
“Heyy! Can I help? Please? Pleaaaase?”
They looked at Doeflame with big, bulging, sparkling eyes partnered with a silly pout.

Carrying prey, the grey cat trotted after her clan like a dutiful little apprentice. Ok new camp! Ok warriors' den, nursery (oh she was a bit jealous that she wouldn't sleep there like it looked so nice with the flowers!!), med-den, oldcat-den, which only left... Oh they got the hole under the stump!! Hell yes! It was kinda in the middle of the camp, but she didn't mind.

Pigeonpaw took a few steps towards the den before she remembered the prey she was still carrying. Right. They needed a freshkill pile. Since she had been the only one taking any prey... there wasn't any specific place to leave it yet... Well, it was up to her then! It would have to be a shaded enough place, and maybe somewhere where it wouldn't be rained on... She one a good spot before looking around to see if anyone else needed her.

Eggpaw's writer is a very lazy person, and he hasn't bothered to read up on what happened here, so this is just a filler post to say that Eggpaw did indeed exit the camp and get to wherever the clan is going.

Pigeonpaw looked down at the splotched kit at her paws. They were talking like really fast, but a wide grin cracked over Pigeonpaw's face. Cool? She? Oh you could bet your but she was!

They had already begun without him? The nerve. His tail twitches irritably behind him but he doesn't say a word, just branches off to begin to hunt for more moss. There should be plenty in camp, supposedly, but if there wasn't he'd bug one of the warriors to take him out into the new territory a bit to search.

[ Bitternpaw rolled a 12 to search for moss. ]

Luckily for him he wouldn't have to do that. Finding a nice patch he does as he has in the past. Scraping the pillowy soft plant from it's place upon the earth with careful claws, he collects his findings into his jaws and trots back over toward where the rest of the small gathering of clan mates were nearby the nursery. He glances between them all with a glint of frustration in his gaze before setting down the pieces he had found.

"Here is some more moss. It can be placed where it's deemed necessary. Will we need more? I don't mind collecting it."

Dawnstar licked at her burning paws, leaning back at her haunches and scowling at the little sliver of wood in the pads of her paw. She needed to get those removed before they got infected. After sitting for a few moments, she felt better and rose to begin searching around after obtaining no response from the tom. Her muscles coiled underneath her thick coat when she heard the incoming paw steps, at the sight of the dark tom she relaxed a little.

Dawnstar would prefer that Darkfall not be around, he had a bad habit of pissing her off for no apparent reason. For instance, he hadn't even said anything but how he looked at her... like she was feeble, had her unsheathing her claws. The leader was tired, tired not weak. If he wanted to test that though, she'd be happy to rip out his throat.

He also had a way of speaking to her that irked her. It was as if he was always challenging her even if he didn't intend to. Such as now, his greeting was respectful enough, but the tone he took with her as if telling her that he'd be looking for Bleedingkit whether she liked it or not was beyond triggering. He was insolent to put it simply.

One of these days, she was going to kill him for it, and she wasn't going to feel bad about it. He should have been aware of the danger he tempted but repeatedly ignored it. When he spoke to her like that not only did it piss her off it made her want to tell him no. Before she could snap at him, Hawkbite showed up. He, much like Darkfall invited himself on the patrol, and then sped off before she could say anything about it. These cats were pushing the control freak's buttons.

"Go with him." She orders Darkfall. Even though she was annoyed, she felt a little better leaving Hawkbite in charge of the search. She was genuinely tired and had other things to do. The she-cat began the journey back to camp, leaving Slytiger to decide if he wanted to help look or accompany her.

Upon returning to camp, she was immediately surrounded by the grandchildren. She bit off the urge to snarl at them and sat down as Quietpaw informed her of Moonpaw's involvement in Bleedingkit's disappearance and the apprentice came to her paws, weeping and sobbing with a story already on his tongue. Dawnstar fixed her grandson with a hard, scrutinizing stare. He was lying.
Moonpaw - @Poprock [So the worst he'll get is a "restraining order" against Bleedingkit if he's not caught in a lie. He might get a temp, demotion, and gathering ban for a few moons if he's found lying, disobeying direct orders, and endangering a kitten]

The clan leader hated being lied to. It always made her question every word that came out of the cat's mouth after. It bugged her even more to be lied to by family. "You're not lying to me are you, Moonpaw?" The leader's tone took on a dangerous edge. "I would hate to dislike family for lying to me." Despite Moonpaw's annoying habit of being overly emotional and touchy, Dawnstar couldn't say she hated him or any of her grandchildren at the moment.

"I ordered all the kits to remain with Nightshiver. Unless your mother's gone deaf instead of blind, she's not the type to recklessly disobey me." If Lostspark wanted to see Bleedingkit why not just walk with him, or come talk to him herself, or wait until they arrived at the new camp? What was so important that she had to make Moonpaw come to fetch the kitten for her? Until that part of the story was sorted believing the rest would be difficult. Dawnstar was not looking forward to starting second-guessing her kin.

As she hadn't seen Lostspark yet, questioning her would have to wait. "I have things to furballs. Your father and Hawkbite are out looking for Bleedingkit, and as I don't see Lostspark around to confirm or deny your words, Moonpaw, we'll have to wait. For now, Moonpaw, you're not allowed near Bleedingkit without supervision, until I'm certain this was an accident and nothing more. If I find you're lying to me in any way, and I will find out, there will be consequences." She warned, padding past the crying cat.

"Sleepypaw [ @Estelle ], Lionflop [ @Desert Rain Frog ] Briarsplash [ @squidz ] Foxear [ @Tallstar ] Tuskedtuft [ @Aroogi ] Sharpfrost [ @Willie Waft ]. I'm irritable and tired, let's get the patrol done quickly."

Dawnstar didn't wait long for the cats she called to accompany her. She was already out of the camp again. Her paws had walked the path a time ago, leading her further from the camp. The ground gradually softened, and the trees turned to spruce. Her tail swatted flying insects as they reached the bog. A flock of startled birds flew from the nearby berry bushes into the trees as she passed them. There was a squirrel eyeing her from the safety of the trees, and frogs swam in the water ahead of her.

"Start marking along the bushes and trees. We'll use this as a hunting landmark." She order, "Be careful of some of the bushes, I noticed death berries on some of them. We'll have to figure out how to get rid of them or dig them up later." Dawnstar would warn the clan later about it. She didn't have the energy or patience to right now.

After speaking with Mossfreckle, Lostspark returned her gaze to looking around for her kin. Bleedingkit was still with Quietpaw, and she could put enough faith that her daughter would not lose him. Her gaze flitted briefly to her ex-mate as he emerged from the Medicine Den, and then away again. He was here, he was also not her concern, other than the fact that he'd headed for the apprentice's den for. . . ah, good, there it was. Rainpaw and Rainykit were accounted for, with Darkfall.

When Mossfreckle began assigning herbs, Lostspark turned away from surveying the clearing and back to him. Busy with gathering this bundle, Lostspark entirely missed seeing the interaction between Quietpaw, Moonpaw, and Bleedingkit as the young bengal tomkit was led away from the rest of the group.

Once she'd picked up her bundle, Lostspark stood there as Dawnstar started assigning cats to their positions. A spell of dizziness and nausea hit her as the taste of the herbs in her maw entered her senses, but the lithe grey feline fought it down. She could be sick later, could be unwell in private, with no watchful eyes on her. Lingering behind at the back of the group, Lostspark kept close to Mistlewhisker, as the deputy had been assigned to bringing up the rear.

Right before they left, Lostspark stopped to look around the mostly desolate camp. Only one of her kits hadn't been accounted for. "Larkpaw!" She called, putting out her voice for her adoptive daughter, lingering as long as she could in the old camp before she decided uneasily that perhaps Larkpaw had already left. Lostspark could not linger here any longer, anyway.

It was only when her limbs started to tremble with exertion from poisoning weakness that Lostspark glanced up and realized she'd fallen slightly behind, her frequent glances over her shoulder for Larkpaw having slowed her down. No daughter was behind her, so Lostspark figured she'd continue at her normal pace. She could find the Clan - it wasn't impossible to follow their scent trail. Except... Lostspark paused when she smelled something else. The hell?

Two kits. One of ShadowClan's kits diverted from the path. Swiveling towards the scent, Lostspark changed her own course, following the lingering smell of milk in the air to the kittens in question. "What in all the skies are you doing separated from-- Oh, nevermind." The scarred feline pursed her lips, frustration evident in the lashing of her tail as she turned her face in the direction of Icy Heartlands. They needed to get to safety. If upwalkers found them, it would do them no good. "Follow me, right now. You can explain to me what you're doing out here alone later."
