FloodPaw caught a frog and looked around for her patrol mates

Russetpaw padded up beside her "Good job!" They said, before spotting a lizard. They imitated the crouch they had seen the others do, before pouncing.

Russetpaw managed to grab the decently sized lizard between their teeth, killing it, looking back at the others for approval, hoping they had done it right.

Tch! The Lord of Darkness could do something as simple as hunt. He had been on a hunting patrol before and though that patrol had never actually returned successfully he had at least a bit of experience. Scoffing in response he tries again to source the scurrying that bug can hear.
[ Batpaw rolled an 11 to locate prey. ]
With the assistance from his mentor he's able to find it. The scuttling. The quick footsteps. An ear twitches as he listens to the creature move through the brush and wide, orange hues are locked onto it's location. His body moves to meet the same direction of his head, almost owlish in nature, and he decides he accepts this challenge. Slipping into the shadows, he prowls along silently, the movement of his tail behind him the only giveaway that he was still nearby bug at all.

Two of them. There were two. He realizes it once he's upon them. It was the warmer time of the year-- perhaps they were mates. Batpaw didn't care. They would be dead. Grinning maliciously to himself he creeps forward upon them, gaze still wide and maniacal, biding his time. Claws unsheathe into the earth beneath silently. His breath was slow. His tail was only twitching a bit, compared to the clumsy lashing from earlier. Totally in the zone. He jumps at the mice with outstretched claws, one paw for each head slamming down upon them. The rough movement is all it takes to snap their necks, stop their movement. He can't help but turn back toward where he knows Petalrot is watching, maw pulled in a confident grin.
"Easy."

"Good," Petalrot compliments with a nod of bug's head. "Bury those and we can come back for them later, let's head to the next spot." Petalrot intones, getting to bug's feet and heading off towards Croaking Swamp.
Feeling the squish of the ground underpaw is as familiar as breathing. The sound of frogs and toads sing the anthem of the swamp and Petalrot glances over bug's shoulder to the apprentice.
"Here's the swamp," bug says, "frogs, toads, lizards and bugs are usually hunted here."
Russetpaw nodded in response to Thrushdawn's compliment. They put down their lizard for a moment to speak "How much more are we catching before going back to camp?" They asked curiously. They definitely weren't in a rush to get back to camp, they just wanted to know how much prey they would be bringing back.
Thrushdawn spotted a sparrow. She crouched down and stalked towards it. when she was close enough, she hesitated, then pounced.

She grabbed the Sparrow, her claws piercing its neck. "A little sloppy, but i got it!" She said, eyes gleaming

Ugh! He hated taking orders but at least Petalrot acknowledged his greatness. Doing as he was told, he buries both the mice to be retrieved once the tour was over, and pads after bug with his head held high.
It droops, however, once they're walking through marshland. A look of disgust paints his features as they move but he doesn't complain. Perhaps the tom 4 or 5 moons ago would have made a fuss but at this point he didn't see a point. An ear twitches as he listens to bug's words on the place and all he can think is "nice, great, means I won't have to come out here unless I absolutely have to".
"Anything else of interest? Or is it just a miserable place filled with disgusting prey?"
Frogs and toads? Yuck. Some cats in the clan enjoyed them but him? No way. He preferred lighter prey like birds and rabbits. Not that it was often he got his paws on them... Mice did just fine.
