"No, you didn't miss much of anything," bug says as Grousepaw shows up to report. Alright, all three were here, there was no use waiting around any longer. Getting to bug's feet, Petalrot leads the way out of camp and toward the swamp, both bug's charges presumably following along.

"We're looking for dock and mushrooms," bug says, reminding the group of their goal. "Mossfreckle said dock grows right outta the ground, with frilly leaves, and mushrooms have a dome cap on em, grab what you can carry but don't wander off too far." bug instructs, plodding away a little to search for the intended herbs.

The marshy ground proves to be difficult to comb through for the required herbs, and Petalrot doesn't seem to be finding any of what bug needs. There's several leafy green plants that only might be what Mossfreckle described, and Petalrot does not want to grab something unless bug is sure of what it is. Mushrooms, bug had assumed, would be an easier find, considering they're everywhere, but no such luck there either. Hopefully the apprentices are having an easier time looking, but bug will have to search a different area if bug wants better results...

Midnightpaw toddled after her patrol as they left camp, deciding to keep quiet rather than to say much. She wasn’t very close to these patrolmates of hers, so she wasn’t exactly sure what conversation pieces they would be able to come up with together… So, best to avoid a possibly awkward situation entirely.

“Gotcha.” The dark-furred molly nodded her head–she wouldn’t have strayed too far anyway, but now that Petalrot had said something, it gave her all the more reason not to stray far from bug or Grousepaw.

Dock or mushrooms… How was she supposed to find a green leafy herb in a place with so many green leafy things? It made her want to tear tufts of her own fur out, but alas, her fur was too pretty. Mushrooms it is, then. She shuffled a bit farther from her patrolmates, deciding to stray a bit farther from the murky waters to prop herself up on a nearby tree’s outward growing roots. Kneading her paws on the bark to rub the mud from her pawpads, she peered down at the ground where the tree itself and the dirt below met–mushrooms. In her attempts at keeping her own fur clean and tidy, she found what they had been looking for… A few of them, at least. As she reached down with a paw to drag one of her claws across the underside of the mushroom, cutting it’s capped head from it’s slightly slimmer body, she hooked her claw into the cap itself and lifted it to her mouth. Surely it isn’t poisonous. Stars, I hope it isn’t. She caught the mushroom between her teeth before she went back to cut another one out from the dirt below, lifting it to her jaws to lodge it between another set of her fangs.

“I found mush-wooms!” She called out, words coming out a bit messy seeing as she had a few caps between her teeth already.

The Croaking Swamps. Unfortunately there wasn't much water in Shadowclan territory, especially after Dawnstar gave away Sunkissed Creek to the Squirrelclan. And I agreed with Hawkbite. That was a move that made us seem weak. Anyway, let's find a suitable place...

She led the apprentice through the marshy lands in search of less muddy waters, that could at least allow them to move freely and swim.
Finally, she found a small lake with reeds growing all around. Frogs and toads croaked in and out of the water, but now it was no time to hunt.
The water was still brown for the muddy lakebed, but Lynxshade had tried entering in it and she now knew it was safe to swim in it.

She got out and shook her pelt to get rid of the waterdrops. She stank of mud, now.
"Bitternpaw. This place is secure enough, but I don't want you to get too far, for we don't know where the mud grows thicker. It would be dangerous to remain stuck, alright?" She waited for a nod of the apprentice, then sat down and started explaining.

"The most important thing when you're trying to swim, is your balance. The water will try to get you down, while your body will try to swim up. When I'm talking about balance, I'm referring to the coordination of your whole body, not only your paws. It's more or less like running, but instead of pushing yourself forward, you'll also have to do it upward.
Now soak your paws, come with me. Let's start with growing our confidence in the water." Her voice was serious, but she was actually enjoying her time with this apprentice. Teaching was good, she realized.

"And remember. We might not be Riverclan cats, but that does not mean we cannot swim like them. Have faith in yourself, every second in there." She said, pointing with her muzzle at she small muddy lake.
