Hawkcatcher

It had been a regular day, starting the same way Hawkcatcher started most of her days, with restocking the freshkill-pile. She had never been the light-footed, quiet sort of cat who was easily able to sneak up on prey without being noticed - a large frame, heavy paws, long fun that easily brushed against dry leaves, and for many moons also an injury in her leg - but she had always been a good runner, so that was what she used. Sneak as close as she could manage without risking being noticed, and then bolt after her prey. And she had just been creeping up on a nice-looking squirrel who was busy getting even plumper where it sat digging up some nut or something when a shriek, muffled but still loud and clear, ripped through the calm forest.

The squirrel was up a tree the second it looked around and spotted Hawkcatcher, but the seasoned warrior had already forgotten her prey. Acting on her reflexes, she followed the desperate cries to the edge of the territory. She had never had any proper training in digging but large paws, sturdy shoulders, and big claws did come in handy, and it didn't take long before her paws swiped against a tuft of fur. Hurling away a few more chunks of dirt, she was pretty sure she had found the shoulder- and neck area of the distressed cat and muttered a short "Hold still." as she attempted to clamp her jaws around the neckfur and drag out the cat. If nothing else she could try heaving them up by getting a paw and shoulder under them.

[ @Forgetfulshape if this is a missing TC warrior I'm pretty sure they would still need to rejoin officially in the thread, but I think we're allowed to play it as if Hawk rescues him first ]

Thistletoe felt someone grab his scruff and absolutely drag him out of the burrow as he finally got free from the burrow with the help of a cat, he felt gratitude rise. "Thank you so much! I-I owe you my life for that!" He thanked the warrior. And then he realized he made the dumb mistake of forgetting to introduce himself."Oh. Right. Sorry. Forgot to introduce myself and such. My name's Thistletoe. I actually used to be in Thunderclan but I get the feeling by now the others assumed I was dead and decided I was no longer there concern.:

As soon as her muzzle got close to the other cat's fur and got a noseful of their scent it struck her as familiar in some way, but it wasn't until she'd dragged them out and gotten to her paws that she got a proper look at them. 'Thistletoe.' Though she had never talked with him, she did recognize him as a former clanmate.

She scoffed slightly at his words. "Don't owe me any debts," she mewed. She never liked the idea of someone owing her a favor, especially not from a situation like this. "I know who you are, but I'm Hawkcatcher, in case you've forgotten." It was possible that a collapsing burrow could have caused damage to the head, so she was prepared to have to reintroduce herself. "You've been gone a while. You should speak with Bumblestar about rejoining." She would escort him to the medicine den first if the situation was dire, but otherwise she'd prefer to have him properly rejoin Thunderclan first.

"...I reckon Bumblestar is gonna flip her lid the moment she sees me." Thistletoe replied softly, worried and slightly nervous. Oh well, he stood a bit of a chance... right..?

Fallingpaw walked with wolf hive into the territory kinda glad to be out of the camp after a whole moon "Thank you Wolfhive, for travailing with me." he smiled "sure hope it was no problem." he meowed his green eyes glinting in the sun looking for moss for nest and ferns to help with the wall of dens

"As long as you get this done, it won't be." Wolfhive twitched his ears as they headed into the territory, mostly on guard in case they were followed or ran into something. "You've been cooped up long enough!"

Fallingpaw nodded with a chuckle "Sure have been might aswell be named fallingstar leader of kitclan!" he joked as he walked and grabbed some moss on a tree

Lightningpaw purred when she was compliment and allowed it to go straight to her head. She was going to be the greatest fighter for there to have ever been and she would be able to thank Wolfhive. "They will be wondering why our clan isn't called Lightningclan given how fast I move!" She cheered.

She took a few good breaths before she shook her head. "No I think I could do one more technique before tapping out." Lightningpaw said. She was getting tired but she wanted to shove it to all the other apprentices by showing how good of a fighter she was. Though in her mind she was already so much better than all the others but where was the sin of being even better?

Wolfpaw purred. "Make that your first order of business when you become leader: I, Lightningstar, hereby declare this Clan to be LightningClan, for I am the biggest, fastest badass in the forest."

One more technique.. Wolfpaw wracked his brain for something that'd leave this on a strong note. Smackin' a face, taking advantage of a jumper.. He figured the best thing to do at this point was covering being pinned. "As smaller cats, one thing that you might experience is being pinned by a larger cat. These situations can be hard-- they have an advantage over you as they're stronger-- but you can circumvent them a few ways. You might be told to play dead, where you go limp beneath them and hope they assume you're defeated or unconscious. But obviously, that can be risky - especially if a cat lacks honor." He had used a variation of this during the raid, but it wasn't his go-to move typically. "If they loosen their grip, you have the chance to pull free and retaliate. I used this move when a cat pinned me by my back, they had their teeth in my neck. When I collapsed and went limp, I held my breath and they assumed they'd killed me. When they let me go, I shot forward to get away from them." Mimicking this memory felt odd to him, but he lowered himself to the ground-- as if an invisible force was on him, a phantom force that made his fur bristle-- and he made a quick dash forward. "Then, I spun and darted toward him." He demonstrated this, and mimicked how he caught hold of something -- to Wolfpaw, a leg, and yanked. "Then I grabbed his leg mid-run, and I snapped it. The force of your body moving puts enough pressure on it to pull it off."

But not all pinning circumstances would be like this. Wolfpaw knew most cats were pinned belly up. "Fortunately, most cases of being pinned are when you're looking up. You have an easier chance of moving your legs, your paws, your teeth.. and that means you have more options."

Wolfpaw flopped back onto his back, positioning his legs as if resisting an enemy. "You can bite their legs, you can kick upward--" his backclaws pummled up, "you can slash toward their neck, their chest, anywhere you can get a hold of - and you can make them regret putting themselves in this position! Enough rapid-paced blows and they'll have to reconsider the stance before too much damage is inflicted."

Wolfhive hummed as Fallingpaw started collecting things. He could help, but he wasn't going to - ensuring his companion dealt with his punishment. "With the way they were willing to follow you outside of camp, I'm surprised you aren't leader of KitClan yet!" He still didn't know what Fallingpaw was thinking, there. He supposed speculation didn't really matter at this point though. "I know the battle was supposed to be your final, but it's been a few moons... you reckon you'll need an actual final now?" With no training in-between, Wolfhive suspected Fallingpaw was kind of rusty.

Fallingpaw nodded his head after he grabbed a good amount of moss and a few other stuff "yeah...I guess I do need to redo my final. he said I bit upset at the fact but he deserved what he got and that's that I haven't trained in a while and I kinda need some extra practice I'm sure I'll find time to do it." he smiled picking up his supplies
