The apprentice looked at him in awe immediately dropped into a crouch, ring to mimic the milky white warrior. Copperpaw shuffled all their weight on their back legs and stalked forward slowly. Their eyes focused on a tree ahead and their tail hovered above the grassy floor.

Copperpaw flicked their tail to show that they heard him. They began crawling towards that finch. They paused a second then sprung, unsheathed claws outstretched towards the bird.

Copperpaw caught snatched the bird with their claws and bit down on it. The bird let out a loud chirp before laying limp in their paws. They stood up with the bird in their mouth. "I caught it!!" They announced, their voice muffled.

"Wait till I tell Mallowpaw and Aldercry!" they thought. They dropped the finch and buried it in the undergrowth. "What now?" they asked, cocking their head sideways.

That left a cat, most likely ... which wasn't very reassuring to Wolfpaw. Given the vicinity to WindClan, it didn't look too good for their neighbor. Unfortunately, since Fawnpaw had been dead for a while, any distinctive scents had faded so the identity of her killer wasn't immediately known.
He hoped they'd find more clues, if just to help bring Nightgaze closure. He lingered close to her as they headed out, in case she needed help.
Patrolling and hunting! Double duty and Crowtooth loved that. First he gave the kids the run down, padding to the new border further into the trees then any other part of windclan territory and scent marking it. "Welcome ta our new land kiddos! 'ts more.... Tree filled then we're used ta but we can handle 't an' its a great spot fer herbs an' prey we don' normally get. But wit' different prey comes a more complex approach then we're used to." The toms tail dipped to point at the new border and nodded to the apprentices to have them rub along it to mark it with windclan scent.
After he'd move away a bit and start on instructing. "So 'm not the best at huntin' so Applefrost correct me 'f 'm wrong?
But first, learnin' the crouch. Get low so yer a mouse tail above the ground an yer tail is hoverin' above the ground, not brushin' that creates noise. Then keep your paws tight ta yer body, ya need to be balanced but keep collected. 'f yer bendin' yer legs right ya should be able to spring 'n a leap anytime.
Finally yer head should be low too, whiskers juuuuuust brushin' the ground, an' ears pinned. See how 'm doin' 't?"
Here Crowtooth demonstrated, crouching just as he described even if he wasnt as quiet as was advisable or wanted given his wheezing breathing. There was a reason he hunted oddly, his disability kind of ruined all stealth attempts.
Maybe Applefrost would try and hunt a squirrel or something to show them the right way to do things.

Winterpaw watched their surrondings with curiosity, not used to being somewhere filled with so many trees and crowded brush. His big ears twitched as he heard birds chirping in the canopy above them and prey scuttling around. Crowtooth also noted how this was unusual territory for Windclan cat to hunt in, but since Winterpaw was still in the midst of training, maybe it would be easier for him to adapt. "What kind of new prey?", Winterpaw asked. He might have to learn some climbing as well if he wanted to catch prey hiding up in the trees.
