Default Patrol Guide

Hey, all! Our team has decided to create a guide to address the confusion around the new patrol system. This thread contains all the know-how you'll need to be a patrolling master. For the universal patrol rules, see this thread!

Patrol Creation
  • To start, navigate to a Clan page by pressing one of the Clan icons at the top of the forums.

  • Locate and press on the link that says 'Patrol Menu.' It can be found below Clan News.

  • You will be met by an interface that looks like this:

To add a patrol, press 'Add Patrol.'

  • Fill out the form with the proper information. For the link to the patrol starter, only put in a URL link to the first post of the patrol. Mark your patrol under the 'Active' tag and press submit.
Post-Patrol Maintenance
  • Once your patrol roleplay is complete, find the patrol thread that you made above and edit the tag to 'Completed.'

  • If applicable, edit the patrol thread to include 'stockpile additions,' or the items (e.g. prey, specific herbs) that your patrol brought back. These will automatically appear in the Clan Storage.
FAQ
Can I submit unofficial / solo patrols?
Yes, regardless of official status, all patrols and hunting sessions may be submitted.

I'm on a solo patrol, how do I set it up?
Follow the instructions up above to create a patrol. Fill in the proper information -- "All cats assigned to the patrol" should be listed as "N/A" while your character is the patrol leader. Due date are when you first posted your solo posts. Your patrol starter is a post of your character beginning their patrol. You can leave your solo patrol as "Completed."

What do I do if one of my patrolmates doesn't respond?
Send a reminder after 48 hours. If there is no reply within 24 more hours, continue the patrol and note their absence in your report.

How do I request an extension?
Contact the assigning member for an extension within three days after the patrol deadline.

What should I do if my patrol leader doesn't do the report for our patrol?
You may have your own character report back late with no penalty.

How do I take prey?
On the clan page, go to Patrol Menu -> "Clan Supplies," click the paw next to contributors' names, and follow instructions. Mention clan high ranks in your post.

How do I make it so that what I gathered shows up in storage?
If you initiated the patrol, go to the thread and press 'edit' at the top right to put in the new additions. If not, contact the patrol creator or a high rank so they may update it. Additions last for thirty days before expiring and only show up if the patrol is marked as complete.

What does "patrol starter" mean?
The patrol starter can refer to the post where you were assigned the patrol or the initial post of your character's solo hunting session. Include a link to it in the patrol submission form so high ranks can verify the patrol occurred.

Where do I roleplay my patrol?
If your patrol was assigned by a High Rank, you should roleplay your character in the section of territory that they were assigned. If it is a solo patrol, you can pick where you want your character to go. Just make sure you're roleplaying in the Clan threads!
