Okay so... he was still somehow not disqualified. Looks like he did know how to use the ol' noggin every now and then, heh heh! Take that Shadowfur, he did know how to think. And not just silly think. Think think. Smart cat thinking, mmmhmmm.

But now, having made it this far, he realized that... he wanted to make to the end. It was an honor thing at this point, really. Hopefully, he could get lucky a thir- er... he could correctly deduce where to go next. Turning to Starry, he gave her a big grin, having seen her by the fallen log as well. Seeing as how his team up with Pip had fallen through, maybe Starry would want to team up with him instead? Games - not a game, never a game - were always more fun in teams, anyways!

"I think... I think... I'm heading over to the big pine. If there's a big tree there, then there has to be more plants, right? Right? What do you think, Starry? Wanna go with me? Or! Or! Do you know of someplace better?" he mewed, dropping his voice to a too loud whisper as he spoke.

Going together with Starry did not mean leading her, oh no. He was more than happy being led around instead. Especially if she knew of a better location than he did. What were the odds that he would be lucky thrice in a row, after all? No no no, wait. That he would correctly deduce what herbs Elmshadow wanted from this scavenger hunt. Mmmhmm. Yes yes. That sounded better. If perhaps a bit less factual. That was okay, that was okay. Less factual did not mean false in this case, he was sure.

Disqualified.

He had been disqualified.

That word rang in his mind like a church bell, growing louder and louder as if to hammer in the fact that he had lost. The fact that his decision had failed him. It didn't help that Elmshadow had relayed the results so bluntly, like a jab to an already bleeding wound.

Cloverkit looked up at the black oak tree. He saw something sticky and yellow but wasn't sure if it was useful- or even considered an herb.

It didn't matter anymore. He walked away from the others, eyes glued to his paws. His lip trembled a bit as he swallowed down the lump in his throat.

He chose to etch this moment in his brain forever. As a reminder to never, ever, make another decision for himself again. From now on, he would just do what everyone else did.

(lol he's gonna go cry about this in the nursery)

Oh! Nightshiver felt surprisingly giddy as she chose a correct area... An area that wouldn't get her disqualified. Oh, how nice... She couldn't help the shy smile that drew on her maw before returning to its usual state. Though what did worry her is that she hadn't seen some of the kits that had joined the event in a bit -- if they didn't appear by the end of the event, she ought to go look for them, yes. Meanwhile, Elmshadow had already named the next few areas and once again the forever queen found herself hesitating, mulling the option over in her head with a slight start. Ultimately, she chose the sunny patch... It sounded a lot like one of the previously named areas, but, it also was sunny! And plants like the sun, right? That made sense in her mind, so, the Nightshiver positioned herself by the sunny patch. Though she did feel a little bad for the kittens that had gotten disqualified -- maybe she should check on them later?

Oh no... Sure, Starrypaw had moved on. She'd picked the Fallen Log, and there had turned out to be mushrooms there, but.. the Black Oak Tree corner had been disqualified. And it bothered Starrypaw, because little Cloverkit had gone there.

Shaken from her reverie at the sound of Mousepaw's voice, the bicolor apprentice turned to her denmate with a small smile, her other thoughts troubling her too much to beam at him like usual. "I can join you! I can- I..." She trailed off, emerald-green hues catching on Cloverkit's dejected form slinking off. The apprentice's expression turned sad as she realized why the little kitten was so disheartened -- because he'd been eliminated, just as she'd suspected.

"Clove!" She called out, offering Mousepaw an apologetic look before scurrying off to the brown tabby. Nearing him, Starrypaw tried to pull him in for a hug -- and if that worked, she'd attempt to squeeze the life out of him with her affection. Okay, she didn't want to kill him with her hug, but Starrypaw felt so sad for him that she couldn't help the extra tight squeeze.

"Clove, you should stay." She told the kitten, nodding. "You can help Mossy and I pick places. Or.. or..." She turned to Elmshadow, brow wrinkling with concentration. "Mr. Plant?" She called, raising her voice and turning to look towards the dark medicine cat. "Can Clove...erkit take my place instead? He can't go back to camp all on his own, and I don't mind watching!"

Aha! She didn’t get disqualified! Take that losers! With glee, the mottled feline whipped her head towards the direction of the disqualified cats, blowing a raspberry in their direction because they deserved it, haha! Well… except Cloverkit. He didn’t deserve it. He was cool. Beside, he and her were from the same class together! Maybe afterwards she could visit him and lay him a paw to cry on? “See ya! I’ll see you afterwards, Cloverkit! It’ll be okay!” she chirped, waving the tip of her tail in their direction—and being sure that Cloverkit heard her—before listening to Mr. Shadow again. Alright, more places to choose. Hmmph, why was there always so many choices to make? Why can’t there just be more simple ones? With an irritable huff and tap with a paw, the six moon old feline glanced around the clearing and decided to go ahead and join Ms. Shiver at the sunny patch. It was quite sunny—literally—and herbs would mostly grow here, right? So it must be a good spot! Plus, Ms. Shiver was nice and deserved all of her company.

Once again, he waited for the sounds to slow from behind him before he picked out a "corner" at somewhat random and meowed, "All cats who are around the entrance, you're disqualified."

Only Drippingpelt was at the entrance when he turned around and looked. It felt like a good turnout though the other corners had similar numbers anyway. Mousepaw was at the lone pine tree and Skybranch, Nightshiver, and Ravenkit were all at the sunny patch. His eyes moved next to Starrypaw as the apprentice made a proposition. "It is of no consequence to me. Starrypaw, if you'd like to give up your position in the game to Cloverkit then you are welcome to do so. No kit should be making their own way ack to camp anyways." He shot a quick glance at Cloverkit before moving on. Whether Cloverkit participated in the coming round or not would be up to the kit.

"This will be the final round. The last places will be on the sloping embankment, the sunny spot by the creek, the beachy area along the creek, between the twin pines, and the center of the clearing."

Hint: Elmshadow will only be finding herbs he knows and all herbs are purposefully placed in the location they're to be found at. Points are assigned to an herb based on usefulness for Elmshadow.

**Kit joining is CLOSED** Any kits attempting to join who are not already signed up will be subject to IC punishment for leaving camp alone
Any kits who wander off or are seen outside of camp beyond this thread will be subject to IC punishment
