Goldenpaw »

A successful hunt! With an uncharacteristic skip in his step, Goldenpaw trotted into the camp and made a beeline for the fresh-kill pile to deposit his finch. A certain cream pelt caught his eye, however, and he glanced over to see Mosspaw in a heap beneath the Galewood. He squinted a moment, processing (he was still riding the high of catching this bird, and if he was being honest the scent of it was quite distracting), before changing trajectory to stop right in front of the other apprentice.

"Mofpaw," he said, voice muffled, before gingerly setting the finch down in front of them and stepping back. Instead of, you know, saying a greeting or anything else to announce his presence, he simply stood there, staring, waiting for Mothpaw to (hopefully) wake up.

MOTHPAW

Curled up gingerly, Mothpaw had (finally) managed to get some rest. It had taken what felt like moons to finally feel tired enough to force himself to sleep. However, as a presence approached, he was quick to jolt awake. Pale green eyes opened to settle on an orange form- fear quickly gripping him before he realized it was only Goldenpaw. Silently, Mothpaw offered a smile in greeting, looking down to the finch in front of them before turning back to the other apprentice with a question in their gaze.

Woah! He hadn't expected Mothpaw to stutter awake like that—Goldenpaw took a half -step back in his surprise, blinking down at the scarred tom. Yes, finch! The apprentice nodded encouragingly as Mothpaw looked down at the prey, and pointed with an outstretched paw when they looked back up at him. For them! In a misguided attempt at being thoughtful towards the other, Goldenpaw once again chose not to use his words, reasoning subconsciously that since at the Gathering it looked like it was uncomfortable for Mothpaw to talk, that it would be the same now—and he should stay on his level by not speaking either.

On the outside, though, he just kinda gestured meaningfully at the bird in front of Mothpaw.
