[ aaaa so sorry this took so long to get up! fighting off writer’s block with a stick atm ]

Stars, it felt a bit weird to be out of camp without an adult (I mean technically, wasn’t he the adult now?? It didn’t feel like it.) but it was exciting to have that freedom; he could go collecting things and hunting bugs whenever he wanted now without having to harass a warrior to take him outside. He felt confident about today as well - he and Pebbleshine were going to collect so much stuff to decorate their nests.

He had been slowly compiling a list of things to gather ever since they moved camps, and more items were added everyday. Speaking of which: “Oh, we should definitely get some lavender if we can find it - I got some for the medicine cats on my last patrol and it smelled really nice.” Perfect, lavender was now added to the list, alongside extra soft moss, feathers, flowers, and anything shiny that he managed to catch sight of. Sometimes he wished he could go back to his sharpyard, especially now that the twolegs and dogs were gone. There were so many shiny trinkets that could be found and bugs that could be caught - unfortunately it was a bit of a trek and leaving the territory didn’t sound very appealing at the moment.

“What’re you going to get for your nest?” Feathers seemed like something she might like. Maybe they could find some shiny pebbles too - then everyone would know that it was Pebbleshine’s nest!
