Hawkbite let out a low grumble. The cats were starting to slack. His tail flicked once before he moved to Eveningpaw and Drippingpelt. Their partners seemed to be all over the place with training, so the tom figured he'd step in and make sure they got to practice.

"Drippingpelt and Eveningpaw, why don't you two pair up?" the tabby tom spoke. They needed to get moving if they wanted to fight in the battle coming up.

Next, the tom turned to face his apprentice and Mousepaw once more. He awaited the both of them to make their moves, ready to critique wherever needed.

Some people are behind so this portion of the event is due 6/29. PLEASE get it done.
Hawkbite will be reporting any slacking to Dawnstar.

First strike for anyone who hasn't replied, next mass mention won't include you and your character will be dropped if you no longer wish to participate.

He said roughly. He didn’t want to stay behind.

At Starrywrenny's defensive crouch, Mousepaw grinned. It was a friendly enough grin, playful in nature. Unknown to him just how brutal the nature of what he was practicing for truly was. In an instant, the stocky apprentice lunged forward, his white tipped toes up in the air before he slammed them down, attempting to hit his friend between the eyes. Well, more like forcefully tap. The young tom was well aware he would never be able to truly strike at his good friend.

After this cranial blow was done, Mousepaw instantly dodged to the left with a well timed roll, aiming to further confuse his friend... erm... opponent. Yes. That. Dexterously raising himself to his feet once more, he attempted a second strike. This time a front paw strike aimed at her flank, once again the strike giving the impression of a kit playing tag more so than a full blown hit. If he was going to get reprimanded for not wanting to hurt his friend, he was alright with this. He just really didn't want to cause Starrywrenny any pain if he hit! He could never be that mean to his family.

One With The Warren & Kitty Softpaws Purrk Active

Attempting to match Mousepaw's happy grin with one of her own, Starrypaw had gone off-focus for a moment, until she snapped back into reality at the last moment and danced backward before Mousepaw could touch her forehead. Which, actually, was quite the surprise. "I dodged it!" She squealed excitedly for Hawkbite to hear. She almost turned towards her mentor to look at him, to make sure he was proud of her, but was sufficiently distracted as her denmate's paw connected with her side.

Ah! She hadn't even noticed Mousepaw rolling away. Silly of her to think he'd stay in the same place.

[ Cranial Blow ]

Once Mousepaw had finished the attacking, Starrypaw leaped forward to try her paw at the moves Hawkbite had demonstrated. Front right paw lifting above the ground, Starrypaw whipped it towards her friend in an attempt to catch him between the eyes. Of course, whether she missed or not, the blow wasn't too hard. It probably wasn't the gentle-est, but Starrypaw had no sense of self-control, anyway.

-> Except after that, she skipped trying the second one for the time-being and jumped to the last, because it seamed the most feasible. Trying to tackle Mousepaw to the ground, Starrypaw couldn't help the delighted giggle that burst from her chest. This was super duper fun! Like play fighting! But she knew Mr. Bits was teaching it to her because one day she'd have to real-fight. If her tackle proved successful, her teeth worried away at whatever Mousepaw (and his roleplayer) allowed reach. Tail, ears, paws, (basically whatever Mousepaw's roleplayer wanted to go with). She didn't gnaw too hard, however, aware that she could be accidentally hurting Mossy!

-> If the tackle didn't prove successful, however, and Mousepaw had dodged, then Starrypaw would just end up sprawled on the floor in a heap because she hadn't timed her landing right. Also, she was very susceptible to biting so Mousepaw could finish his third move.

[ @Alchemist Kitsune - Mousepaw | Yeah, I'm entirely fine with more than one move! You have full powerplay perms for Mouse to do whatever to Starry lol, they just both need to finish their last move. Also, I hope that all made at least some semblance of sense ]

Flashing a toothly grin, she sidled along the she-cat, searching for weak points in her partner's demeanor. Hopefully her dark gaze would hide the excitement of the fight.
