With her hindpaws bunched underneath her, Emberpaw dug her claws into the dirt, anticipation for the start building. As she heard Thunderblaze's call, her shoulders coiled and pulled her forward, hindpaws pushing with as much force as she could muster. She fixed her sights on the trail, and took off, paws pounding the earth, legs stretching to their full length as she sprinted towards Sunkissed Creek.

Cloudspots tensed his muscles at the start line. His lithe form was going to be a great aid in this race. He hoped. He’d won a lot of races in his lifetime, but there were a lot of cats at this one.
At the start signal, he shot off. He quickly overtook most cats, his legs pumping furiously. If he could just get a good enough head start, he’d be in good shape!

The she-cat gave a slight sigh, she already knew that she wouldn't win, this was just to spend her time doing something. Yet knowing this, she still took off with as much force as she could muster in a second and off she went.
