A Little Bit of Flint

(I just want to make a note that I just submitted Littleberry today, so he won't be on the Allegiances yet.)

Littleberry looked up at the huge tree. He had been training by climbing smaller trees and now he was going to climb the one he was staring at. Littleberry shook away his doubts and unsheathed his claws. He jumped up and dug his claws into the lowest branch. Then, he hauled himself up. The next branch would be harder to get to, but Littleberry was determined. He made sure to know just how high to jump before he jumped. Littleberry succeeded, but just barely. He couldn't hold on for much longer, so he started to get up on the second branch. But, he could tell that his jump had been wrong and that he couldn't get to the second branch, so he dropped down onto the first one. He made to jump again, but a noise distracted him.

For a cat who would consider it rude to stare, he sure was doing a great deal of that now. Flintthroat had been on his way to hunt, on his own, minding his own and quite deeply focused until his ears caught noteworthy creaking on the wind. The dark cat hadn’t diverted from his path too heavily, assuming the source would be innocuous enough for an easy segue back to hunting upon checking it out, and the warrior wasn’t wrong about that, per ce; a clanmate honing his agility in trees certainly wasn’t anything egregious. In fact, it was fairly normal, even if typically done closer to the training areas on the territory! The tom couldn’t quite put a paw on why exactly he had watched his clanmate pounce from branch to branch for such a long time, especially not without making himself known. By the time Flintthroat began to worry about seeming disconcerting, debating between greeting Littleberry while the other warrior was so high above the foliage, remaining silent until the risk of surprising the other was past, or simply leaving before anything occured, the other cat’s hesitance pulled his attention back to the tree. Fox-dung; his bushy tail had caught a twig, rustling the brush faintly enough to be suspicious in and of itself.
“Just me, please don’t worry. The warrior called hastily, hoping the other would assume he had only just been passing by upon disturbing the brambles. Ideally, he wouldn’t have to figure out how on earth to explain that he found the other tom’s movements interesting enough to settle down and watch out of the blue. Hell, Flintthroat doubted he could explain it to himself past the same feeling one would get while seeing some ants going about their business. Analysis? Simple curiosity? Who knew- the important matter here was whether or not the other warrior would be too surprised by his introduction, really.
