Beetleclaw, a fluffy gray cat, padded out of his den and to the fresh kill pile. "These rabbits are so thin nowadays.." He muttered as he grabbed one. Even though he should be resting in his nest, he didn't want to be seen as a burden or lazy. He shuddered at the thought. He wished he could be a warrior again. The hunts, the patrols, the gatherings. but ever since..Well, he'd rather not think about it.

The deputy's ears swiveled in the direction as his name was called the moment he exited the warriors' den. Well, at least it was one of the only cats who could put a smile on his face during these stressful times. To the the "we need to talk" was still a little menacing.

"What's up, handsome?" Fallownose returned easily, padding over to here what Scorchedfang had to say.

Scorchedfang had not missed the abrupt liveliness of the camp, but it felt.. artifical in many ways. As a cat accustomed to seeing a whole lot of nothing, he had a desire to see it thrive - or destroy it trying.

"Now might not be the best example," he was not going to dance around the subject. "But I was wondering if you had noticed the... trend, of cats sitting around camp doing nothing? I was not sure if that was supposed to be a frequent thing, it seemed.. unbefitting! When there is food to be caught, herbs collected. Work to be done."

Fortunately, there were some cats who seemed to be prime examples - his tail flickered toward Softdust, Silentleap, Lavenderhaze. Being idle after being ill or doing duties all day was one thing, this just seemed lazy to him.

Curlypaw kneaded the ground beneath his paws, anxiety sparking his pelt. Camp was supposed to be a safe place, where he could trust everybody (at least on a surface level). This was supposed to be a place where he could feel at home, where the threats of the outside world couldn't harm him.

Yet, camp was quickly becoming another place on his list of locations that made him feel uneasy. After finding out about the mysterious deaths that had occurred, Curlypaw had found himself unable to shake the nervousness that clung to him like a kit to its parent.

Was Cowtuft really responsible, somehow, for those cats' deaths? It seemed very strange to the apprentice. He didn't know Cowtuft very well, but weren't medicine cats supposed to be good? Why would a medicine cat ever do something that would hurt or kill one of their Clanmates?

Curlypaw didn't like how the possibility of Cowtuft being a murderer made him feel. His claws began scoring into the dirt beneath him. If he couldn't trust the medicine cat, who could he trust? Was Lavenderhaze trustworthy? What about Fallownose and Twilightstar? Had he misjudged them, too? Or was he just overreacting, worrying about something that wasn't even a real threat?

Keen, sharp eyes scoured the camp's clearing as the round faced molly took a deep breath, the leaffall breeze crisp and welcoming. It would be leafbare far too soon, and yet the clan stood almost at a standstill. They had two clans breathing down their necks, medicine cats being run ragged with their extensive quest of finding a cure for the plague that kept taking their clanmates, and yet the camp's clearing was filled with little more than chatting cats, lonesome apprentices, and flirts. Where were the patrols returning with prey? Warriors coming back, short of breath after a good run through the grasslands or a mock spar? War was clawing its way to them. Being prepared was a must!

A disappointed sigh escaped Dapplebreeze, mismatched ears twitching slightly. So much had happened of late. The light of her eyes had returned to her, but the loss that the clan had suffered right before? Peachfrost... going rogue. To think that a cat she had once looked to as a formidable warrior, an exemplary clanmate... had thrown it all away in a fit of passion and unfiltered impulse. Pathetic. And now there was talk of joining forces with ShadowClan... a fact that the former queen was having trouble reconciling in any way. She would follow her leader to the end, but to side with Dawnstar... with the vermin that had caused her son's death?! It was a difficult notion to make peace with.

Shaking her thick pelt, the senior warrior found herself stretching, getting ready for a day out in the territory. Doing what... she still did not know. Lightningstorm had given her the good news. She was... well... perhaps not good as new, but strong enough to move on her own. The patched she-cat was still expected to not overexert herself, but surely if she couldn't even bring herself to hunt or run like a true cat of WindClan the medicine cat would have said something. Besides, she couldn't take it anymore. The inaction. The stagnancy. She needed to feel the wind in her fur as she did something... anything outside these stifling four walls. Company would of course be welcomed, but by the moors themselves she would leave on her own if need be.

The apprentice glanced anxiously at the nursery, wanting to know how Azaleashine was holding up with her kitting.

The young she-cat didn't notice anyone come up behind her until a paw prodded her flank.

Bristlepaw jumped, looking up to see her Clanmate, as well as denmate, Hazelpaw.

Bristlepaw's blue gaze softened, and she greeted Hazelpaw with a warm purr.
