Okey dokey! Mudhound it was. They were pretty sure that's what Wolfhive had instructed.

Disobedience crossed their mind. Beachpaw wondered momentarily if the switcheroo was because Wolfhive didn't want them for some reason, maybe being so behind in training, but that was filed away for later. LATER they would revisit that. With Wolfhive.

For now: hunting (apparently, without incidents as per Wolfhive's request, but what did that guy ever do for them except reject them from the Big Group.) Nonetheless, hunting was a valuable skill -- they would learn precisely how to entrap cats of other Clans into their clutches.

Wolfhive didn't miss Oatpaw standing around, simply not listening. Irritation spiked his pelt. "Oatpaw, we're practicing climbing, not standing around." He beckoned toward the several other apprentices actively attempting to climb up the surrounding trees. "If you aren't going to try why did you bother coming when I called?"

Oatpaw looked at Wolfhive. He had an irritated gaze but hidden was also a hint of fear. "I....." Oatpaw started. He flicked his whiskers nervously and he looked up at the tree and then looked at the ground. Just looking up at it made his tummy turn. "I...i'm scared" Oatpaw mewed in a quiet voice, hoping no other apprentice heard him.

Oatpaw hadn't come off that way moments before, when he seemed checked out. But, Wolfhive respected apprentices 'n would take his word at face value for the time being. He forced himself to relax, stiffling the frustration that came with a lack of communication.

"Fear's pretty natural, it comes for everyone in some form. Why don't we do this step by step? C'mere."

Wolfhive signaled for Oatpaw to join him beneath a tree, then demonstrated hooking his front claws into the bark. "Follow along with me. This tree has old clawmarks in it - align your claws with them and hook in." He'd pause to give Oatpaw the opportunity to succeed doing this.

Amber eyes watched as Wolfhive climbed the tree, barely listening to what he was saying. That looked easy to do, surely this would be no effort from her and she was sure Swanpaw could do it too! "C'mon Swan let's gooo~" she gave her sister a nudge before running over to the tree. Sunpaw unsheathed her claws and launched herself onto the tree landing on the side splayed out. "Im going to beat you to the top!" she had her head twisted to see her sister from the side of her eyes before she copied what she saw the hornet do. The ginger molly dug her claws into the crevices of the bark as she slowly made her way up.

Oatpaw gave a scared glance at the tree. Extending his small claws Oatpaw tried to fit them into the marks as well as he could. His grip tight as he tried not to look up the tree out of fear. Oatpaw's paw slipped out as he was lightly shaking. He closed his eyes and took a breath in order to calm his shaking. He gripped the tree successfully this time and sniffed.

[BEAR.]

Keeping a close eye on Oatpaw in case he needed extra help, Wolfhive watched him flounder at first before he succeeded. "Well done!" Hopefully some encouragement would bolster the kid's courage. "Now you want to push off the ground with your backpaws, and hook those claws into the bark."

He used his hindlegs to push himself upward, and caught his hindclaws into the tree. Another pause so Oatpaw could try.
