Interesting. This was the den of learning. As she observed the area around her Sharpkit noticed the Great Dawnstar, speaking with a group of kits with an apprentice. She didn't want to interrupt so she simply waited patiently. She remembered hearing about self-defense teaching as well and she was extremely interested in it.

Second class. Second time's the charm. The first had been fine, it had gone well, Sorrelflare had complied to standing in the background and merely watching. Xe had played his part wondrously. But. It was safe to say that Larkfire was not satisfied. Not entirely. She had taken those last four kits on a tour of Mourning Ruins. She had made made sure they made not a noise in the dark as they walked.

Still, Larkfire wanted better. She wanted the kits to actually feel involved. Just having them silently follow after her wouldn't work, not really. They had to become the silence, they had to, as Mirehound had mentioned in the most recent even, wear the shadows like a second pelt. Larkfire fully intended to play hide and seek with this batch of kits. Call it unprofessional, call it kit-like, she didn't give a rat's rump. If you wanted to teach the kits, you had to understand them, and if you want to understand them, you have to speak their language.

A game it would be, then. But Larkfire wasn't entirely foolish, oh no. She didn't have bees for brains, not at all. Some could call her a blank slate, a mindless starry-eyed follower of Dawnstar. But despite wanting to gain Dawnstar's approval and yearn for ShadowClan's acceptance, Larkfire would never ever follow blindly after anyone. Not anymore, not after the way Fablespinner had taken advantage of that obedience. Circling back to the original topic, Larkfire stepped into the dark enclosure of the Kit's Playden. It was midnight, and Lark had chosen a day where the moon shone bright over ShadowClan's grounds, illuminating it enough to properly see, yet casting ample shadows to practice with. She couldn't lose kits, now, could she?

Speaking of losing kits, there was a reason Larkfire had asked for the assistance of not one, but two warriors this time. So that there would be three warriors to keep track of five kits. Mirehound, a cat the Clan should recognize by now, and her dark former mentor and Lark's peer, Shadowfur. The youngest Enforcer's gaze danced with palpable mirth for a few seconds as she recalled Shadowfur and his strange ways. A distant tom, he was, and then seemed to truly only communicate with those he trusted. Larkfire had never paid notice to Shadowfur before, but she understood why Dawnstar had chosen him. He worked hard for ShadowClan's prosperity, and that itself was something to be respected.

Turning amber hues once more towards the dark bundles in this den, Larkfire took another single step forward, a smile curving the corner of her lips upward. "Smokekit, Rosekit, Mousekit," She began, fiery orbs scouring the little area for a moment before continuing. "Vulturekit and Hazelkit, you too, come here."

Mousekit

Frolicking on the clearing with a pelt full of moss, Mousekit was silently stalking after his - presumably - very unaware - as far as he was aware, it really was debatable - brother, wanting to give him a surprise cuddle pounce. At two moons of age, the kit was rapidly growing and maturing - again, this part was highly debatable - learning new things every day. For example, did you know... there was no such thing as a thought hearer? Gasp! Apparently some cats were just really, really good at reading other's expressions and body language and could guess what they were thinking. Thought guessers didn't sound quite as cool as thought hearer, so Mousekit soon dropped it, instead focusing on being one with the shadows since the shadowy not-a-game that he had not-played with Auntie Larky.

The gray tom had soon learned that... he liked the shadows. True, the shadows didn't change his coat color like the moss did, but they did something even better. They made him equal to every other cat in the clan, because in the shadows, every cat was invisible. Or so he tried to be... His paws still very much lacking the refinement of older, more experienced warriors, the kit had taken to imitating the stance he had seen Auntie Larky do at the not-a-game and shadow around after interesting cats until he got bored and ran off to find Hazely and play an actual game. The other cats were still usually highly aware of the stalking kit behind them, a fact that had as of so far completely escaped the moss riddled kit.

Today, he had decided to combine both. Shadow totally-training-not-playing-nu-uh-you-are-lying-if-you-say-otherwise with playtime with Hazely. Placing one dark, white toed limb in front of his face as he adopted a very crude, kittish crouch, the young kit's rounded ears suddenly perked, hearing the familiar voice of his Auntie Larky calling him over along with some other kits and - gasp - Hazely was included?! Yay, yay, yay! He was going to get to spend the day with Hazely and Auntie Larky! And make new friends! Today was the best. Day. Ever! Forgetting his crouch and sneaky shadow blending, Mousekit quickly pounced forward, rushing towards the playden while calling back to his brother.

"Hazely! Hazely! Let's go, let's go! Auntie Larky is calling, let's go!"

The ever growing kit that had charcoal tabby markings covered in white marks had been practicing the moves he had learned from Ivysnake and whatever else they could remember from training by themselves. His yellow eyes focused on the pretend fox that he was fighting. Pretending to bite and swipe at the fox before his ears swiveled at his name being called along with one of his brothers.

It was Larkfire who was calling them, she wasn't on his 'Stinky' list like some of the members of the clan were, but she also wasn't on his 'Amazing' list, she was were some of the others of Shadowclan were at, on his 'They are Okay' list. Meaning he tolerate her but he would fight against something she said that he didn't like.

He walked over, ears twitching as he looked at the newly-made warrior, awaiting for whatever she would tell them they would be doing. Though he knew that she would be teaching things with stealth in the shadows, something he did want to get better at. He did enjoy the darkness that Shadowclan seemed to have.

Shadowfur’s ears swiveled in Larkfire’s direction as she called together her next kit lesson. The massive warrior stretched, his jaws parting in a big yawn. Eyes blinking, he decided to have a little fun with this. Kit lessons were generally boring; even though Shadowfur acknowledged the usefulness of them, they lacked the thrill that training apprentices gave him.

From a sizable distance away, Shadowfur slipped into the shadows hovering around the edges of camp. Silent guardians were they, standing between ShadowClan and any enemy that wanted to threaten their peace.

With carefully placed pawsteps, Shadowfur slunk over to where the kits were gathering. The tom kept his pawsteps light, softly stepping. He positioned himself directly behind Larkfire, his big form looking like a misshapen monster, muddled and twisted by the slants and curves of shadow. He was curious if Larkfire would notice. If she had heard him, or perhaps felt his pawsteps, would she know it was a cat? Or would she misread it as just another animal, or perhaps even a figment of her imagination, as he intended?
