Mistpaw padded into the nursery alongside her mentor. She walked up to the queens and said, excuse me, I'm sorry for barging in, but I have an idea to help guard the nursery, if you're interested in it. she looked at dovepelt, "do you want to explain it?" She asked

Emberkit quickly latched back onto his mother, clearly eating more than his siblings as his tail excitedly moved around

Dovepelt looked at her apprentice and smiled. "This was your idea Mistpaw you would explain it better then I could." The she cat said with the flick of her tail for Mistpaw to continue.

Mistpaw nodded with a small smile thanks, Dovepelt. she mewed. She turned back to the queens.

The mottled queen was grooming her short fur to shine as her stomach was slightly larger than usual. Bringing her head up as her adopted daughter came barreling in.
"Pebblekit, remember what we talked about? Inside voices only in the nursery and outside voices outside." She sternly but gently reminded the molly.
As she came closer she scooped Pebblekit and started groom her daughter. "My love, your mentor is who will teach you the ways to become a warrior, not me." She said between licks.

Pebblekits eyes widened and she covered her mouth with one of her paws, sorry! she whispered. When she felt Songbird scoop her up and start grooming her, she giggled I'll help groom you! she giggled, and then started to lightly groom the queen.

echopaw giggled and raced after him until she caught up, she took a second to catch her breath a bit before responding, "any prey is food for the clan." she dipped her head, "so I think any prey would be fine..as long as it keeps the clan healthy and strong." echopaw lifted her head and opened her mouth slightly to catch all the scents around her, she perked her ears when she finally picked up a scent of prey, "there are a few rabbits
over there...and what smells like some mice...over there." echopaw wasn't sure how to show him what she was talking about. she gasped when she got an idea, she lept to one side of him, "over this way is the mice." echopaw mewed before leaping to the other side of him, "and over this way is the rabbits." echopaw purred, she hoped that help.

Songbird smiled down at her daughter, only a motherly smile that her kin see. "It's okay my Love." Gently purring. A chuckle rose out of her as Pebblekit started to groom her too. These were the moments she lived for when it seemed like it was just her and her kits.

The queen lifted her head as she watched her kits play outside from the entrance. Her dijon eyes looked up to Dovepelt and Honeypaw. "What is this 'idea' you have?" She asked cooly as she eyed the two.

Pebblekit snuggled closer to Songbird. Lifting her head to stare at her mother with large, innocent eyes, she asked, when you have more kits, can I help groom them too? she then looked back down at the queens swollen belly and started gingerly grooming it, as if she were grooming the unborn kits.

Mistpaw stepped forward. my idea was for one or two cats to guard the entrance of the nursery, so to speak. It doesn't necessarily need to be a very strict guarding system, but if it were to happen, it would be enough to be sure all of the kits were safe at any given time. I just thought it would help you out. I don't want anything bad happening to the kits in our clan. she explained to Songbird.
