Relief flooded his pelt as Hawkfur spotted Whiterabbit returning, as well as Owlscreech and Daffodilpaw. He was less relieved when both parties revealed that there were fires in their assigned territories. Hawkfur cursed under his breath but remained calm. Birchpaw arrived, and that marked the last of the cats he needed.
"Whiterabbit and Owlscreech, go back to the fires you found and wait there. DO NOT TOUCH THE FIRE." The Fury fixed the two warriors with his fierce gaze, the severity of the situation clear. "Daffodilpaw, Fleetsmoke, Dewfawn, Birchpaw, Grapevine, you're with me. We're going back to camp." He announced to the remaining cats. "We need to report the fires and direct the next group where to go." He assumed Twilightstar, Crowtooth and Lightningstorm had come up with a plan while he and the spotters were out here. "Let's move!"
Hawkfur turned and streaked towards camp, the thrumming paws of the others close behind.

DO NOT TOUCH THE FIRE. Yeah okay. She uh. She probably really needed to hear that. Whiterabbit disguises an awkward cough under a hack for breath, but she doesn't have any time to go and look sheepish about it because she's forced herself to turn tail and start sprinting back toward the blaze the instant she figures Hawkfur has no further direction for her. Back and back and back, and a turn at this spot, and up the slope, and...
The fire is still there, right where she left it and maybe a fraction larger than it had been, but again, she really can't tell. Whiterabbit obediently refrains from trying to go down and box it into submission, settling for a frantic back-and-forth trot instead.

Daffodilpaw nodded dutifully at Hawkfur's instructions, taking off after him. Despite her status as an apprentice, and how hard she had been pushing herself that day, the urgency of the situation pumped her with energy. She kept up with the older cats and warriors, unsheathed claws pulling her along the moor with her tail streaming out behind her as she raced for camp.
Owlscreech padded into the territory with Daffodilpaw beside her. Her big owl like eyes looked around the clearing, she turned back to the apprentice and asked. "What do you know so far?"
Daffodilpaw was too excited to sit still! She pranced in place, trying to remember that Owlscreech had asked her to calm down a bit. Well, this was a bit so hopefully this was good! “I haven’t started combat training yet!” She reported, trying to stand straight like she imagined a warrior would when reporting to Twilightstar. “Not unless you count tickling Bouncepaw!” She added with a mrrow of laughter.

Owlscreech let out a laugh at her comment. "Well, Bouncepaw will always be defeat if you tickle him. I hear he's ticklish." she purred. "But you can tickle people in a battle." she smiled at her, before turning her gaze away from her and onto the forest. The breeze was nice today, it wasn't hot but very cool.

The fire is still there, right where she left it and maybe a fraction larger than it had been, but again, she really can't tell. Whiterabbit obediently refrains from trying to go down and box it into submission, settling for a frantic back-and-forth trot instead.
After he left camp, Leechscar scented the air and could detect the hint of smoke coming from it. He knew which direction he was heading in, before they split up he turned and looked over at the group of cats following him. "Stay safe, I'll see you all back in camp later. Bouncepaw, stay right on my tail." The fury parted from the rest of the cats with that. Thankfully hunting down the fire didn't take long, between the scent and Whiterabbit's bright pelt, they knew exactly where to go.
Reaching the top of a slope he found the cat and the flames. The fire was certainly on the smaller size, but he doubted it'd take long to grow. "Hello there." He greeted Whiterabbit as laid back as ever while eyeing the fire. "So we're going to dig around the flames, create something of a trench. If you have nothing better to do, lend me a paw." The huge gray warrior meowed, padding towards the flames, and stopped a good cat length from the fire. He was close enough to feel the heat, but that's about it.
Leechscar unsheathed his claws and quickly began ripping chunks of grass and dirt and tossing them behind him, creating a hole. "Bouncepaw. Come here and continue where I've started. Don't dig straight down, start digging to the side and go around, we need to trap the fire inside the trench. We need to make it wide, so we'll have to dig up another second layer behind the first." He'd move a few tail lengths away from the apprentice and dig up another starting point for himself.
The fury ripped and teared up clumps of earth until he hit a nice patch of pure soil and started moving to the left, leaving patches of bare dirt behind while ripping up any vegetation that could catch fire.

"But you can tickle people in a battle." she smiled at her, before turning her gaze away from her and onto the forest. The breeze was nice today, it wasn't hot but very cool.
Daffodilpaw frowned, she didn’t like thinking about what she’d be doing in actual combat. She didn’t like the idea of having to cause harm to another cat. Somecat else’s kin… She looked up at Owlscreech with a moment of weakness. “Why do the clans have to fight if we’re all united as one in StarClan anyway?” She asked, her gaze momentarily serious.
The young cat soon shook herself physically, as though shaking water from her pelt, pushing the doubt away. No! I have to be strong for our clan! She sat back and looked at Owlscreech with determination in her eyes. “I need to learn…to be strong to protect my clanmates.” She meowed, a touch of assertiveness to her usually bright and kitish tone.
Bouncepaw's eyes widen as they arrive. It's not because of the fire. That's hard to see. Rather, it's because of the large amount of smoke and dust that's rising in the air. Even a small fire creates lots. As the wind blows some towards is direction, Bouncepaw coughs. The air is foggy white and grey, and worst, it's spicy.
He nods as Leechscar's command, and immediately gets to work. Bouncepaw's claws rip out rocks and patches of grass and roots, and his large, square paws dig out dirt, branches, and dead leaves to create a shallow but barren trench. The debris flies behind him into a mound. Bouncepaw is very quick, quicker than he's ever been. He's a good digger, but also, the threat of your camp burning up does that to a cat. He's able to grit his teeth and ignore the dust and smoke and heat in his paws. Good thing he's always been a sturdy cat.
Feeling her paw come in contact with Lightningpaw she pulled back, waiting for him to make another move. None came and it worried her. Had she hurt him on accident. Barleypaw moved forward slightly. Not to attack this time. If she had hurt him she didn't want to hurt him any further. She moved her head to her mentors scent. She was worried and you could tell.
