ⵌ ➜ #GUTSPAW
˗ˏˋ ✮ it . teeth . bite . // sixteen moons ˎˊ˗
small spiky-furred black tabby with striking icy blue eyes. has a huge fluffy tail & a few scars in the shapes of bite-marks - notch in left ear.
❝HIGH ACHIEVER, DON'T YOU SEE? BABY, NOTHING COMES FOR FREE !!❞

『 彡 ➜ @Aroogi @Lil'Ember @Tallstar
Gutspaw stared at Firepaw unblinking, clearly looking unamused. It hadn't asked, actually. It sounded almost as if she was attempting to insult it, teeth understood most of its clanmates found its name ,, peculiar. It liked it, though. It wasn't supposed to, but it felt as if it was reclaiming it in spite. The apprentice stayed quiet, still staring as it walked. Oh abyss, this child was bloody dense. "The literal only other option would be to hunt?? Duh?? If we were lookin' for herbs, you would know, " Gutspaw snorted, 'cause seriously if she couldn't use the process of elimination that was worrisome.

At least it seemed like she finally got the hint once she picked her pace back up.

Gutspaw's patrolmates offered up their own opinions, but Tuftedtusk stay quiet. Still, he started to rush after the scent trial and the black tabby swiftly followed. Something akin to unease churned in its stomach. It bursts through the undergrowth only to find a gruesome scene.

It completely comes to a halt, icy irises fixated on the yellow-furred multitailed body. The scent of blood hung heavy in the air, rat bites evident. Yellowtwist. Gutspaw didn't even know how the tom got killed by rats of all creatures. Maybe there was too many. It never liked him, but it never wanted him done.

It hadn't ate before the patrol. Hadn't ate in a while, actually. The hunger creeps up on bite, mouth beginning to salivate at the exposed meat. He didn't need it anymore. He was gone, dead. He seemed like he would be tough to chew, too much fur. It would have to skin him and oh, did Gutspaw want to. It wanted — needed to devour. To eat. To fulfil the burning hunger inside its chest.

The apprentice tears its gaze away, taking a small step back. Oh bones. It didn't - it didn't want to. It didn't want to. It didn't want to. Yellowtwist was bite's clanmate. He deserved a burial, he didn't deserve to be devoured like prey. He didn't deserve these ugly thoughts from Gutspaw. Why? Why? Whydiditwanttotearhisfleshoff?

It feels sick to its stomach and before it knew it, its skittering off into the undergrowth to heave up bile. It hadn't ever saw a dead body before, not truly.

Gutspaw wipes at its mouth, wipes its paws on the dirt before taking a few pawsteps back. It throws a few leaves to cover it up, returning back to the group. It stays away, it does not look at the body. It only scratches its claws through the dirt. Once, twice, thrice.

[Hawkbite]
Enforcer Commander
Shadow Fiend | Agatha Kitty | Kitty Softpaws T2

The Commander stalked from the camp, his movements were sluggish, not those typical of the confident warrior. He felt the wear in his limbs and the annoyance bubbling in his chest. Fishkit had caused a lot of chaos in a short amount of time and the kit claimed him as his father. Was this what being a father was like? Because he wasn't sure he wanted to keep this level of stress and worry over another cat. She was going to be a headache if she kept pulling shenanigans like this, but boy, did the Commander have a soft spot for the little furball at the end of the day.

Hawkbite came to a puddle, not too terribly far from the camp, but far enough that predators shouldn't be a problem. Besides, the blood would dissipate into the ground within the day.

He stared at his reflection, studying the way the blood splattered across his face. His green eyes would shimmer darkly in contrast. He would note how caked his neck, chest, and forelegs were. He could feel his underbelly crunch as he sat down. This cleanup wouldn't be fun. It was worth it though. That damn fox was dead, and his two closest companions were safe in the medicine cat den -- even if they were in the clear yet. Honestly, Hawkbite couldn't recall the last time he was this bloody. Maybe next time, he wouldn't let the predator fall on top of him and bleed everywhere.

It was fine.

Everything was going to be fine.

He felt bad now, talking back to Mistlewhisker the way he had. He hoped the deputy wouldn't take it personally. The Commander was left with a lot on his plate again and the one feline that ever got him to open up, was left severely injured in the medicine cat den.

He gritted his teeth.

There was no changing the outcome. There was only hoping for the best and checking on them when he returned, but first, he would check on Nightshiver's kittens. They would need to know and understand why their mama wasn't going to be there tonight. They'd need to learn why their mama suddenly had half her face missing.

Claws sank into the ground before a harsh swipe at the water. It sprayed across the forest floor.
Dammit.

A long exhale with tightly shut eyes, then he'd blink and start the process. Scooping water with his paw, he'd begin washing his forelegs and paws. He'd watch the puddle run crimson. Then, he'd start soaking his chin and chest into the water, fighting back the shivering from the coolness on his now damp fur and exposed skin.

It would be a long process, but Hawkbite would get it off with time.

Tuftedtusk looked at Flytail with a grim expression. He wasn't just going to leave his fellow enforcer's body lying here any longer than it already had. "No. I'm going to bring his body back to camp. This patrol is done. Let's go."

Using his strong jaws, he carefully tossed the warrior on his back and carried his body back to camp.

Her duty had been to check over the leader's den and the medic's healing space; a task of which she had completed by now with, of course, little to nothing to patch up save for some strengthening she had taken care of for the just-in-case event; an event of which her rper has yet to write out and will do in due time, but the youngest enforcer was needed elsewhere. Ones work never ceased. For you see, on her way past the camp's entrance, warily eyeing the landscape beyond and wondering if any left of predator still roamed there, if anything had been attracted by the obvious loss of blood; it was a minute concern, but an all too real one when tiny ears upon a fluffy head seemed to twitch as though picking up upon some quiet sound, an idea which led her paws to diligently tap the ground with all the lightness that she knew and could muster in a strange attempt to find the source of this too odd and possible unreal sound.

Unreal, if only it could have been so. The stench of blood had grown familiar to her in the world she walked just as in the dreamscape she often found herself in; it was unmistakeable scent, one that alarmed to danger when it was carried along with the heavy steps and sounds of a beast much unknown to her. For a moment she hung low beneath the shadows, eyes adjusting to the beastly sight before they found the evidently deceased source of blood - or, deceased she assumed, the foolish apprentice lay still and torn up. Even so, such a beast could not be left to roam on its own.

The smell of blood, the feeling of a threat - the feeling of a threat to her family, her clan; it was all too real, ever present. Her claws flexed in and out, she knew all too well the beast towered over her in unimaginable heights much like most of ShadowClan did. But the need to defeat the beast was there, ever present, and a silent want to fight such a monstrosity even more. Eyes turning to slits, paws deftly carrying her across the land surrounding its sizeable form, Sleepysunrise inspected her opponent in minute detail - its large claws, its heavy and slow movements - before the not-fool of a beast must have scented her; it stopped, and the enforcer wasted no further time.

Unsheathed claws darted out in front of her and the beast's paws, avoiding its claws with a agile movement as she raked her own across the badger's wrists with deepening strides the further she could push, creating distance before it could get her back. And again, she rushed forth, claws unsheathed and aimed deep into the badger's flesh to tear at its skin near its paws - again and again - each time a different side, a different leg, a different speed with the hope of disorienting the killer animal before further executing it.

with mistlewhisker going over the volunteers to assign each of them tasks and hawkbite excusing himself to wash off the blood, it hadnt been hard to swallow the offer to take a look at the commanders injuries in mossfreckles place, hesitant to assume any authority over this subject or his superior. sure the urge to act on whatever additional duties (or should he rather say rights?) was there, especially because shadowclan had a awfully small amount of injured or sick cats going in and out of the medicine den (not that he was complaining about the health of his clan but why the hell had he spent the majority of his apprenticeship breaking clan rules to figure out medicine and herbs if there was nothing to do with it) and he had been watching like a hawk (hah! hawk), itching to get his paws on a case.
following the short report he gave mistlewhisker about the state of the now enforced warriors den he had struggled his way around fern and moss to fix, the enforcer exited camp in search of hawkbite. whilst hawkbites smell seemed to blend into its surroundings the farther they got from camp, like rookfire had observed once before already, the sharp metallic tang of blood wasnt hard to track down as it appeared to cling heavy to the moisture in the air.

"hey there. good work with the fox" rookfire greeted, eyeing hawkbite wash off the blood whilst approaching at a more sane pace than he had left camp in. he settled with a good bit of distance to hawkbite, letting silence stretch thin between them instead of getting straight to the point. right now, it was up to hawkbite how long the quiet would remain between them whilst the commander cleaned dark tabby fur of what rookfire assumed to be mostly the fox' blood. actually, now that he wasnt focussing on fishkits foolish behaviour, hawkbites bloodied fur and the injury he'd been told nightshiver sustained, very valid curiosity about the foxes body manifested at the back of his mind. was that something they could theoretically eat? hm.
honestly, it wasnt really all that much hawkbites choice, rookfire knew why he was here and it wasnt simply curiosity. eventually, no matter if the older feline had spoken up by then, he would get to his query eventually.
"i could look at your wounds if you dont mind." he finally offered, remaining unmoving apart from the quiet tap tap tap of his striped tail, curled around white tipped front paws and rhythmically tapping the ground.

Darkfall: "The Spectre"

Shadow Fiend: Inactive | Killer Aptitude (T3) | Ultimate Predator: Inactive | Hulk SMASH! [Inactive]
___________

In an effort to regain his position as enforcer, Darkfall was patrolling more. Little baby steps were necessary in order to achieve his goals, and through this, he was restarting his journey to get the rank he once held. On this occasion, he was alone in the territory. Or… he was at first. The sound of screaming interrupted his thoughts (why must there always be trouble?) and he was presently making his way towards the sound as quickly as he could. It would be absolutely fantastic if his clanmates could simply avoid trouble for at least a moon, but no, they all seemed to decide they wanted to take turns seeing who could get hurt or die in the most horrific way possible. It was so very frustrating… Perhaps this is how Dawnstar felt whenever something went awry or they had to make a report about such behavior.

The familiar Scent of iron met his nostrils as he drew closer. Accompanying the smell of blood was a hint of his daughter, Sleepysunrise. Bleeding burning skies Lostspark would kill him if he allowed something to happen to her. Hastening his steps, a very much okay Sleepysunrise came into view. Or well, close enough to okay. In that split second before he moved into action he noticed a mangled body off to the side, and that the dark-furred she-cat was engaged with a badger. Or at least he thought it was a badger. He hadn’t had the fortune (or misfortune) to meet one of the creatures himself so he was just going off of what he was told.

With the current sight in front of him, two opposing sides warred within his head. On one paw, he wanted to get in between his daughter and the badger as quickly as possible so that she could get away. However, on the other… well, there was a part of him that usually lay dormant until he found himself in situations like this that wanted nothing more than to work alongside the small enforcer to strike the beast down.

Unable to resist, he went with the latter. A low growl emanated from within him as the dark-furred tom sprang into action. Sleepysunrise was a flurry of dark fur as she went to and fro, targeting the badger’s paws, so he did his best to track her movements and not get in her way as he lashed out with large clawed forepaws whenever the beast’s focus was directed towards her. A grin found its way onto his face and grew each time he felt one of his blows connect with the badger’s thick hide. He wasn’t as nimble as the young enforcer, but with each of his strikes, he knocked their foe off balance a little due to its already weakened legs.

Excellent. She was doing well. He couldn’t focus too much on the actions of his daughter because he was doing his best to avoid a heavy strike or bite himself, but from what he could see, she had a good enough handle on things. ”Watch out!” Darkfall called, bunching his muscles together. Noticing an opening, he used his massive frame to bowl the badger over before sinking his teeth into its throat. The beast let out a roar and attempted to twist itself free, but he kept his grip firm. A flash of pain erupted at his flank but he didn’t release his hold. He must’ve been struck by its claws in the badger’s attempt to free itself. Well… hopefully it wasn’t too bad. Using his claws, he tore into the soft flesh of the badger’s underside, attempting to deal as much damage as he could in an attempt to get this over with quickly.

He wasn’t too sure if Sleepysunrise gave some more help as he was preoccupied by finishing the job and not getting struck again, but after a little while the badger gradually grew weaker, and weaker until… it stopped.

Finally. They were done. Releasing his hold on the corpse, he rose to his paws and attempted to catch his breath. Darkfall had seen quite a few battles, and even fought some foxes, but this thing… this thing was its own special hell to deal with. Azure eyes scanned the younger feline and he offered her a slight smile. ”I’m proud of you. Good work,” He half-wheezed, half-purred.

[Hawkbite]
Enforcer Commander
Shadow Fiend | Agatha Kitty | Kitty Softpaws T2

Was he surprised when someone followed him out to the territory? No. Was he surprised that it was an Enforcer? Actually, yes. Especially when the Enforcer was Rookfire, the tom he hadn't actually interacted with outside of professionalism. Hawkbite used to take it upon himself to get to know the Enforcers one on one, getting them out and having a silly day with them once in a while. Since the death of Silverlark and the bond he'd formed with the younger was destroyed, he hadn't done that. He almost regretted that with the death of Lostspark, whom he never got to know personally.

Who else was out there he hadn't spoken to? Ah, Briarsplash and Shrewstep, too. He'd certainly been slacking. He couldn't even name some of his Enforcers without thinking super hard about it. Shameful of him, really.

Hawkbite sat up from the puddle he sat in as these thoughts traveled through his mind. Crimson water dripped from his chin and chest, mostly washed now, but he'd have to find some moss to dry himself before he'd try to lick himself clean. He wasn't that big of a fan of the metallic taste, and it'd take forever without outside help. "Did Mistlewhisker send you out here?" Hawkbite would inquire before Rookfire would get his first set of words out.

Good job.

His jaw clenched and claws sank into the ground. Subtle, but noticeable to the trained eye. Was it really that good? It certainly didn't feel like it. Stars help me... the Commander thought bitterly, his green eyes shooting towards Rookfire now. "I could've done better. I could've prevented them getting hurt..." he snapped, although it was clear the annoyance wasn't directed at Rookfire, but more in a general aspect.

A deep inhale, and Hawkbite calmed himself down a tad. Then, an exhale and the Commander would toss a glance over his tattered body. His pelt was disheveled, but he could feel the light stings of some cuts he didn't know were there before. "It'd make the deputy happy, so go for it," he replied softer this time. A defeated look would flash in his eyes before he'd avert his gaze and look down at the crimson puddle before them. "Spent enough time with Mossfreckle, you picked up a thing or two, huh?"

ROOKFIRE
[ he/him | shadowclan enforcer | purrks ]
it wasnt like he hadnt expected some surprise about this appearance, but the immediate connection the commander appeared to draw to mistlewhisker was mildly surprising. logical, mistlewhisker would care about her commander not getting the treatment he needed or worse. "no, i came because im curious..err, worried as well i suppose" great save rookfire, great.

'i could've done better. i could've prevented them getting hurt..' had rookfire been in a worse mood and less understanding this wouldve probably ticked him off enough to get up and turn back around, but he had been working on not getting unreasonably upset as of recent and this was something he could see himself doing. "theyre alive, thats all that matters i think" the rest of what had been ghosting around his mind went unsaid and forgotten quickly as hawkbite took on his offer. striped tail unwrapped from around his paws immediately, yet not too quickly as to looking overly eager, and white marked maw slightly agape in an effort to pick up on any scents besides blood. the older had chosen as relatively lush piece of forest, with golden rays breaking through the canopy in irregular yet rather high frequency.

"not quite, he's taught me a bit, but most of i got b'fore joining shadowclan i think... riverclan was without a medicine cat, n who was i to let who i thought ta' be my friends and family die, hmm?" why he was telling hawkbite all of this he couldnt quite say, it wasnt like he liked these memories or people knowing them, but perhaps it was a odd expression of extending trust, letting the older in on his past without fearing immediate removal from the rank they shared.
"used to think i wouldnt make it ta' warrior" he added for reasons beyond even him whilst shuffling around the greenery closest to them. adament about avoiding any and all thoughts about becoming a warrior at the time, immensely uncomfortable with the thought to the point of delaying already spotty training there had been a lot of time and very little cats enforcing rules. the first plant rook spotted was marigold which, irrationally, wasnt his favourite for minor wounds and preventing infection, would do just fine.
he yanked a bit of the plant off its stem before returning to take a closer look at hawkbites wounds.

[ what are words. ]
