It was a warm morning, the sun high in the sky. It was probably around noon, perhaps a bit before. Cherrywood believed in sleeping in, while still not wasting the whole day away. The Shadowclan warrior emerged from the warriors' den, blinking sleep from her eyes. A yawn escaped her maw as she padded out into the camp clearing.

She took a deep breath, she'd be given her first apprentice, a cat named Flamepaw. She'd seen him around camp several times before but had no reason to interact with him until now. The calico she-cat padded towards the apprentice den, tripping over Wormkit while on her way.

Cherrywood scowled glancing down at the apprentice aged kit. She'd always considered him a failure of a Shadowclan cat. He was FAR too old to still be a kit. She cleared her throat before speaking "Wormkit, Why're you just laying there? Shouldn't you be making yourself useful in some way? Perhaps babysitting kits for the queens?" She said, looking at him through narrowed blue eyes.

He'd done nothing but cause trouble basically since he was born. The She-cat sighed, looking past him to see if she could spot her apprentice in the apprentices' den from where she was.

Wormkit was resting after playing mossball with some of the other kits all morning. It grunted as he felt her paws on it as she tripped over it. The smoky black tom let out a low growl as he saw her expression change.

The Shadowclan kit rose to his paws before glaring at the warrior.
"I was just-" He was cut off by her next question "No- I just" She cut him off again giving some seemingly well-thought-out lecture on how she was sure he was up to no good. blah blah blah bad blah trouble blah blah.

He zoned out, her voice wasn't particularly loud or harsh. Admittedly it was rather pleasant to listen to, however, her words were sharp and pointed. He'd heard worse from apprentices and the queens when he was younger so what Cherrywood had to say meant nothing to him.

Once she was done he heard her say something along the lines of 'you're coming with me and my apprentice to do some training so you don't waste any more time.' which, whatever sure "Okay" He said with a shrug following behind her to the apprentices' den.

Flamepaw saw the two cat. "hey guys. Have you seen Wildpaw?" he mewed.
(Just so you know flamepaw hasn't been accepted yet." @seeingstars

The calico warrior scowled down after hearing Flamepaw's words "What does it matter? We have training to do, which is why I even came over here" She said, looking at him through narrowed blue slits.

Why were all these young cats always looking to get out of training "We'll start with the borders, then perhaps some combat- Can't have you two out here unable to defend yourselves" She said plainly before padding towards the camp entrance.

Cherrywood stopped just outside the entrance, waiting for the two cats to follow behind.

He blinked, What did he want with Wildpaw? But also it was obvious that he had been sitting there most of the day, how would he know where she was. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at Flamepaw, distrust clawed at his belly.

He followed Cherrywood, occasionally shooting cold glances at Flamepaw as the group headed out of camp.

As flamepaw followed he kept an eye out for wildpaw. @seeingstars

The first border they arrived at was the herondive hollow. Cherrywood had never really ventured too near the Thunderclan border. She wrinkled up her nose as the Thunderclan stench hit her "This is the Thunderclan border, if I were you I'd avoid these guys- they're generally soft when it comes to combat, but they can occasionally surprise you" She murmured, narrowing her eyes as she shrugged, moving onto the next border.

The next border was of course Riverclan, she rambled off some insulting description of the clan and territory before reminding her apprentice and the kit that they should avoid this border, and with that, they set off to their final border.

Windclan, a territory Cherrywood knew a bit about, she gave some neutral facts about them before shrugging non-challantly "annnnd that is it I believe" She said furrowing her brows.

"Any questions? If not we'll do a bit of hunting practice before heading back to camp, alright?" She asked tilting her head.

Wormkit followed along, bored with Cherrywood's talking. Most of his attention was focussed on the tom beside him. Who did Flamepaw think he was? why was he asking around for Wildpaw? what business did he have with her? It felt jealousy prickling at it's belly as it watched him carefully. His tail flicked gently behind him.
