Risingmoon padded into the training hollow, her tail swaying behind her. "Tigerpaw," She called to the apprentice behind her. "We're going to be practicing combat today. Now, here is what I want you to do."

Risingmoon fixed her apprentice with a firm look from blue eyes. "I want you to attack me, claws sheathed. Show me what you're capable of without hurting me."

Risingmoon slid to the side neatly before the blow could land. Twisting, the nimble she-cat slunk beneath Tigerpaw's belly, attempting to unbalance the young cat by hitting the tendon in her hind legs with her muzzle.

If she succeeded, she would jump out of the way before Tigerpaw could crush her and pin her to the ground.

risingmoon's tail swayed behind her, gently brushing the undergrowth she stood beside. ''combat training isn't meant to be easy,'' the warrior warned her apprentice, her whiskers twitching with amusement. ''they're meant to be tough. you'll make mistakes, and you'll learn from them. every cat does.''

''i want to see you do that move again,'' she instructed. ''you're not going to stop until you get it perfect.''

risingmoon stumbled back a bit, but managed to keep her balance. Without hesitation, she leaped, attempting to send Tigerpaw reeling with a kick to the flank from hind paws.
