SnakeWither sat with his tail curled, he was technically still an apprentice, so he couldn't leave camp on his own. But he was waiting for Hawkbite, SnakeWither was probably older than him at this point (yeah he is pfft) unless Hawkbite was a former loner, he never saw this cat before. However, he knew better than to disrespect anyone, as anyone could give you a good smack. Waiting paitently, he awaited his new mentor.

Hawkbite emerged from the warriors den to be unexpectedly greeted by his newest apprentice, Snakewither. A sigh left his body. "Early start to the day, eh?" the tom spoke, giving his body a big stretch. His muscles rippled under his sleek pelt and his gaze finally settled on the other feline. "I guess I should assess what you do and don't know," he spoke, thinking for a moment. Snakewither was his first apprentice and one that already had some training prior so. . . where did he start?

"What do you mean, 'early'? I always get up at this time." he mewed in his flat tone. Giving his fur a few licks before adding; "I was trained before, and I've seen my fair share." SnakeWither let his gaze fall on the larger tom. His tail flicking as he stood up and started hopping over to the camp entrance. "I learned how to fight, and hunt, but had to relearn after my leg was lopped off." He had a few seasons, oddly enough.

Hawkbite lifted a brow at the sass he received in response. His tail flicked a few times before he reluctantly followed Snakewither towards the entrance. "Well, alright, but how long has it been since you actually utilized any of your training?" he replied.

"I guess we can go on a quick hunt and see what you actually retained," he spoke frankly, more lowly than he had before.

"Actually it's been not too long, and I have a few tactics on my paws." He replied, ears flicking to the slightest sound, the breeze was cool, and it just occurred to him that he should be following Hawkbite, not his mentor following him. He stopped for a moment to let Hawkbite move in front.

There. The slightest scent of a mouse, and ruffling of leaves that hadn't decayed. He checked to make sure he was downwind, otherwise they prey would be quickly alerted.

Snakewither rolled an 18! (Downwind)

Downwind, perfect. Now just to creep up on it. Placing one paw closer to his one front one helped him keep balance, and let him walk slowly and quietly.

SnakeWither rolled a 12!

A few tail-lengths away, the mouse was oblivious to the predator near it. One mistake and it would scurry away. Getting ready to pounce on it, he lunged at it. The mouse tried to scurry away, and it really would of if it had ran the way that he didn't have a leg, but it ran the direction of his paw. And with a swift bite to the neck, he secured the first catch since he returned.

"A mouse, perfect"

Hawkbite stopped and crouched as Snakewither seemed to slink away into the undergrowth, clearly after something. Although, a few moments passed and Hawkbite wasn't disappointed in the results. Honestly, he assumed things would be disappointing. Rising to his full height again, he gave Snakewither a quick nod of approval. "You're making my job much easier," he complimented with a small chuckle. "Are you familiar with the territory at all? Since things have changed recently, I don't know what it was like before you left," The warrior spoke, gesturing around them.

What was the territory like when he left? It had been so, so many moons since he dissapeared. The borders were more or less the same, most of everything was the same, just some places were separated now. "It's More or less the same, just some parts of what I think was apart of the Icy Heartlands like that uhhh Dark Split thing."
