Irispaw
Irispaw followed Swiftheart to the Whispering Wetlands, the WindClan-ShadowClan border. She glanced around, making sure to stay on the WindClan side of the border. The slate-grey apprentice was guilty for not having any training. She knew it wasn't really her fault... but still. Her eyes gazed at the pines that loomed over her on the other side of the border. They seemed so tall. In the moors, there weren't trees like those.
The border seemed really peaceful. She glanced at Swiftheart to see what he was doing. Spiderbite still hadn't shown up for the patrol he had been assigned to. Irispaw hoped he would show up soon, 'cause if he didn't, then he'd get in trouble... right??

Swiftheart lead the way to the ShadowClan border. Their scent was strong, they must have refreshed it recently. He flicked his tail to Irispaw, motioning for them to start on the one half, while he did the other. "Make sure to check that none of their scents cross," he told his patrol-mate.

Re: Whispering Wetlands
Irispaw
The slate-grey apprentice gave a nod. She flicked her tail, prowling around, rubbing against some of the rocks and bushes here and there to mark the scent border thing. She'd seen some older warriors do it, so Irispaw figured that was how you set a scent mark. Irispaw opened her maw, attempting to detect any unusual scents in the air. It seemed pretty calm.
"I don't think there's much to worry about here," she admitted to Swiftheart.

//THANKS! I had forgotten all about thisXD
"Yes," Swiftheart agreed. "All seems calm here." The sandy-tabby marked the last border marker then turned to the apprentice. "Lets head back," he mewed.

Re: Whispering Wetlands
Massive, white paws stepped lightly on the ground as grassland slowly gave way to forest, the pines above towering even over the giant's patched ears, humbling even his stature. Despite the view, the young warrior couldn't help but wrinkle his nose at the overpowering scent of the very trees that grew slowly closer, the musky scent of them combined with mud and decay that seemed to simply grow during leafbare assaulting his oversensitive nose. Even under these conditions, however, Snowybreeze felt a sense of nostalgia run down his very core, remembering his first visit here, the first of all the borders Deadmoon had taken him to. It had also proved to be the place of his very first patrol, a border patrol with his beloved former mentor and his now disappeared friend, Speckledpaw. Mismatched ears drooping lightly at the thought, he allowed himself for once to wallow in the misery of those who'd been lost in time, his lack of companionship allowing him to perhaps be more selfish than he normally cared to be.
Another step taken as the feathery coated tom sniffed the air, cautious to be so close to the border alone and keeping his wits about him, hoping to encounter no enemy patrol that would be trying their paw at crossing over to fight him. He would defend himself, of course, but it did not give him any sense of comfort to know he would no doubt find himself outnumbered in such a situation. Perhaps not something he would have been so overly preoccupied with as far as the other clans were concerned, but ShadowClan was always worthy of the extra caution, the extra step, at least if the stories were to be believed. Having personally never had a negative encounter with a ShadowClanner himself and instead having had Deadmoon speak quite amicably of the dark clan, he certaily hoped things would remain so today. No, scratch that... especially today.
Feeling no cat scent in the wind, the gentle giant swept his bright, blue gaze across the earth, seeking for something that would be worthy of being taken home today. Not being one to normally seek out trinkets and knickknacks for himself, today was different, the trinkets he sought meant for another who did, who cherished such things. At first he had misunderstood his friend, thinking Berrypaw was interested in pretty little things, trinkets to adorn her nest and make it beautiful. It wasn't until their latest outing, the grand trinket expedition they had gone through that he realized how wrong he'd been. It had never been about their beauty, but about the memory, the meaning, the treasure that each object held within.
A frown marred the tom's normally soft features as he chastised himself, angry at himself for having even entertained the idea that Berrypaw's fascination with trifles could be something so trifling. His friend had never been vain in any aspect of her life, it was an insult to her to even consider the possibility that this was were she chose to flaunt a trait she had never even displayed to begin with. It was his hope that with this gift, with this welcoming bundle to the warrior's den and her new name he would rectify this mistake. Of course, he first had to ensure he found a decent gift for his friend... one that reflected he had carefully considered her feelings to what made a trinket so memorable. To simply get the first pretty feather he could find would not do today.
Padding closer towards the border, carefully making sure he stayed on WindClan's side, Snowybreeze raised his broad head as he studied his surroundings. Jagged rocks like the one she had grabbed on their way to Juniper's Rest littered the area, somewhat covered in nettles, moisture clinging to them, remnants of snow that had refused to stay. Nothing caught his eye as he trudged on through, pale paws becoming dark with mud and vegetation from both clans. Frustration mounting on the normally patient tom as he realized how much daylight he'd by now lost, he sighed, knowing full well it would be quite the walk home if he waited until dark on his own. Perhaps he should have begun his journey elsewhere, no matter how nostalgic this place had been.
Begun... beginning... beginnings!
Ears perking up at this thought, Snowybreeze turned his gaze once more towards the pines that littered the border, his focus now on the ground beneath them as he searched for something specific, something he knew would hold meaning, at least to his heart. His eye finally catching what he'd been searching for, the gentle giant leaped forward, broad paws engulfing a pine cone, pulling it towards him from the small pile that littered the ground beneath a pine tree. Inspecting it lightly, he beamed, happy with his find. The pine cone was without a flaw, a perfect, rounded bundle that almost gave the appearance of a wooden flower. Leaning down, he gingerly grabbed the cone, making sure he would not damage it.
Here at the ShadowClan border had been his beginnings as an apprentice. His first trip with his beloved mentor, and his first task as a proper clan cat, no longer a kit bound to the nursery. What could be more symbolic of these beginnings so tied to ShadowClan's border than a pine cone? The recipient of the very trees that gave ShadowClan that overbearing, empowering scent? The very trees that kept their land in shadows all year round?
A happy purr escaped the white furred tom as he turned, ready to head back home. With this gift he would pass on his beginnings as an apprentice on to Berrypaw, and give her a small piece of his own start during her own as a warrior. A trinket of a memory long past, but of a promise of the future life to come, just like the very promising future he was certain she would have as a warrior of WindClan. He only hoped the gift was not too obtuse, a silly meaning that only he would understand. He scoffed, knowing full well his friend understood him better than he understood himself half the time, and instead bounded happily back towards the camp, eager to hide the precious bauble in his nest - her nest, really, as he'd never slept in it - so he could repeat the process and find even more trinkets to add in the borders that remained.

Re: Whispering Wetlands
{ @ jupiter - DaintyPaw }
FoxPaw was finding his way back to WindClan, gradually. He had decided he’d take a small nap and accidentally rolled over to the ShadowClan side.
{ Me and Jupiter as that nobody else interacts with these posts until FoxPaw is killed off! Thank you in advance! }

Re: Whispering Wetlands
[ @ BirdieChirp ]
Daintypaw knew that trespassing was bad. Only an idiot wouldn't, and naturally, she took some precautions to prevent her being caught. Like rolling in some gorse on the way over here, so that she would be undetectable and unidentifiable as a ShadowClan cat.
Just because it was against the rules didn't come close to meaning that she wasn't going to do it, obviously.
Padding through the freakishly open territory, the lilac taupe tabby came upon a rabbit. And this rabbit was otherwise known as poor, unsuspecting Foxpaw. She was pretty far into enemy territory, but she refused to go back until she had let out some of her pent up aggression. So she skipped through the territory towards him, coming from WindClan territory (since she had crossed the border earlier) and sank into a crouch. It didn't really matter if he spotted her or not. She'd catch him anyways.

{DaintyPaw - @ jupiter }
FoxPaw looked up and around, his vision blurred and he couldn’t see a thing. He was delusional, thin and pitiful. His head flopped down and he stayed laying there.

Re: Whispering Wetlands
( @ BirdieChirp )
As the tom collapsed on the ground, rather than feeling a flash of mercy, she felt disappointment. This didn't look fun. "Well," She murmured, padding up to the weak tom. "You look boring." This would most certainly be too easy. Reaching forward to place her paw on his shoulder, she tried to roll him over so he was facing up.

FoxPaw rolled over and hauled himself up. “P-please don’t hurt me…” He said, exasperated and raspy. He had a family and wasn’t ready to leave this world.
(Also, sorry for the confusion, FoxPaw is a trans FtM!)
