Owlthroat
he/him | Shadowclan Enforcer | 44 moons Killer Aptitude T3 - Just A Scratch - Silver Tongue T2 The Dancing Bird
Owlthroat nodded at Coyotepaw’s response, the youngster had good manners. His ear flickered idly in the cool breeze, he had his head screwed on right and that at least counted for something. ”You’re right to keep busy, working and continually improving on your skills is important. Whether warrior or apprentice.” It was easy to see that Coyotepaw was determined to prove themselves, an admirable quality. Owlthroat couldn’t see him having much problem sliding into his role as a warrior, as long as they stayed sensible.
”No point in fretting, you’ll either be promoted or you won't. If it comes to it, I’ll redo your assessment and speak to Dawnstar but I’m hoping that won’t be the case.” He was blunt with his words, but not unfriendly. He was sick of cats failing to deliver their words, falling through on their promises. He’d just about had enough of it, he’d make a point to speak to this “honey” personally if it came to it.
He was looking forward to a new apprentice, starting fresh. His paws would be free of Coyotepaw soon enough, but also Willowpaw. She’d been a thorn in his side for far too long but had at the very least managed to pull through into a different role. Not quite a warrior, but a caretaking role was much less embarrassing than an apprentice turned kittypet.
Venomkit eagerly chased after her cousin(niece??) Quietraven as she carefully stalked over to Grimpeak. No way either of them were going to miss this meeting, don't ask how they'd met let's just say the kit showed up and chose to annoy her older relative one day.
rookfire pushed through the crowd, ignoring the minor fight that had sparked between two warriors and found his spot at the side of the crowd. pale claws clinking against the icy ground, it felt sort of wrong to sit here, not an hr, not an enforcer, what business did he have sitting in the spot he purposefully chose to monitor the crowd? in his current state, annoyed and sick, he wouldnt be the best at breaking up fights anyway. the dark tom sighed, fixing grey eyes on dawnstar. he wasnt a candidate for earning new apprentices, not after his demotion, not while cinderpaw was still an apprentice, but he was mildly curious if there would be any new warriors. cinderpaw could use a warrior now, slowly but surely, rookfire was almost sure she had been a apprentice when he himself started..well, restarted his training with lostspark.
the cold barely bothered him anymore, caught up between feeling like he was about to drop dead the next time he stood, hallucinations lunging at him and swirling memories of blazingstar. did he have anyone besides him? not really. not like he didnt already usually stick to himself, realising he was truly alone still hurt. what representation of shadowclan was he, really? angry and alone, his only friend a former windclan leader long dead and only in his dreams. rook supressed a bitter laugh, what if the leader wasnt even real in the first place? simply another trick of his mind. it was humorous, sort of at least. so alone he made up a bloody leader of all people.
letting his gaze drift over the crowd slowly gathering, rookfire kept his eyes open for anyone in need anyway. he had to be of some use at the very leasts. stars damn it.

MIDNIGHTSUN
[ he/him | shadowclan warrior | 40s ]
thick dark fur laying surprisingly neatly for a guy that had been outside in the first place, midnightsun approached briarsplash with a grin on his maw. the enforcer hadnt seemed overly convinced of him the last time they spoke but he wasnt the kind of guy to back down, even after the rejection she had greeted him with last time. even if she turned out to despise him despite all efforts, midnight could always argue that it was networking he was trying to be nice and a visible presence around the clan. reaching for more than what was bestowed upon him wasnt an easy feat and he knew it, but getting all buddy buddy with the enforcers must be a good step. what he refused to acknowledge was the genuine need for some connection, no matter what position briarsplash held at the moment. he admired her personality and spirit, and who could blame him for it! "hey there~"
the smile was honest and he attempted to catch her eye as he sat, multi colour tail curled around himself in an effort to shield his mismatched paws from the cold gusts of wind. entirely ignorant to the fact that most cats didnt quite take physical contact as casually as he did, he didnt even take notice of the fact that their fur brushed. midnightsun turned to gaze up at dawnstar, eyes still crinkled slightly with the smile remaining on his maw despite the frankly disgusting weather.
roachflare poked his head out of the warriors den, spotted nose wrinkling at the cold outside, before stepping onto the slippery ground a little too carefree and slipping. eating dirt wasnt the plan but when was it ever. the tortoiseshell got back to his paws. the fall wasnt far at least, he was too short to genuinely hurt himself from slipping. with considerably less spring in his step than usual, the small tom snaked his way through the crowd to find a spot large enough for himself and mudslide that would provide warmth but give them space. craning his neck, he kept mismatched eyes open for the one warrior he genuinely wanted close during the cold. mudslide was important now, and while she definitely still payed attention to him and bug was proud of her, it had gotten a bit harder to keep track of her at all times. who knew being an enforcer meant being annoyed more often than the average warrior. hm. it did make sense.
She hadn't even done anything. So why was she tired?
The enforcer sat in the snow, every muscle in her body tense. She couldn't help but think they were looking at her. Who? Everycat. Everycat in the entire clearing, expecting her to do something. But she'd offer them no entertainment.
She flicked her ears to the noise of a mewling kit, her tail fluffing in instinct. Her gaze flicked over, observing them as Hollowpaw tended to them. There seemed to be no blood from where she was sitting, but she was tempted. It was delt with anyways, and her urge had left her. She tightly wound her tail around her paws and blinked away snowflakes, before the shape of another furry body slipping and falling caught her eye.
She glanced once more, fully expecting to see an apprentice, but no, it was Roachflare. She successfully hid the worry lines that threatened her expression, watching as he padded into the clearing, seemingly unharmed. He settled into a wide and uncrowded area, looking for somecat.
Mudslide gave the Grimpeak and glance before she slid into shadows, her paws still crunching on snow occasionally as she weaved her way over to bug. She tapped at his shoulder with a chilled paw, letting him know she was there, hoping he wouldn't panic. She wound her tail around him and rested her head on top of his. Despite how thick bugs pelt was, if she was cold, bug'd have to be since her pelt was nearly as thick now.
"Hey," she rasped in greeting, her voice laden with the urge of sleep. Falling asleep was just as hard as getting up lately, something she hated. She felt too groggily, never attentive enough. She needed to feel safe, most times she didn't. Her paws trembled slightly, half from the cold, half her own anxieties. "Alright?" She removed her head and craned her neck, observing his face. No scarlet so far...
Waaaaahhhhh! Weepingkit eeps and flays spitting out threats of biting whoever had just scruffed him. "Down! Down! Down! Down you put or bite I will!" The kit was ready to throw paws and book it towards the nearest sibling. His tail was fluffed up and his back was arched once his paws found something solid underneath him. He whips around ready to bite the nearest paw, but freezes when he spots his siblings.
"Scorpi! Hi!" The kit's entire demeanor changes when he recognizes his sister. He purrs aggressively and moves to rub on his sibling. He loved his siblings, even grumpy Grotto. He didn't particularly care if they liked or cared for him or not he loved them enough for all of them. While attempting to shower his littermate in his affection, his big orange eyes turn to the cat who is hovering.
He didn't know her, she had some cool scars though. Momster said that the more scars a cat has the stronger they are. He's never seen a cat as secreted and scarred as his mother yet, but this she-cat might be the closest next to that weird cat with the strange jaw.
"That who? Yours? Bite I can?" He asked with a tilt of his head. Weepingkit slowly learned that just because he didn't know a cat didn't mean they didn't belong to someone so he couldn't just go biting them. Like that apprentice who had been teaching them, he was half certain he belonged to Grotto. The bleeding one. That was Grotto's friend so Grotto's cat.
If this one-eared cat belonged to Scorpionkit he'd refrain from biting her even though she deserved it for scaring him. He pins his ears back and frowns when the she-cat tells him to use his claws. "Claws Weeping used help not they did." He growls with a frown. So maybe he hadn't done the digging-in thing, but he tried!
Weepingkit doesn't sit still for a long cause he spots his brother flying across the broken ground right into the Grimplace. The sight reminds Weepingkit of his own hurt nose. But unlike Weepingkit, Houndkit's nose starts dripping red. "Oh, Hound, Hound, red stuff back in put. Momster said away you go if all gone you do." Weepingkit meows frantically and hesitantly puts his paws on the cold broken ground again. Lesson learned, and despite his attribute, he does try and take the rude one-eared cat's advice, digging his claws in and gingerly trying to make his way over to his brother. He'd never admit it but the Rude-One-Ear's instructions work.
SQUIRRELRISE she/her | 18 moons | small, scarred russet and brown molly with white markings and yellow eyes
[ chill of death, hulk SMASH ]
"it's..no p-problem." she nods. as the kit settles down beside squirrelrise, her tail sweeps around to curl around her front paws - eyes on the grimpeak once more. though, as of late, she's been putting her paws on her tail to protect at least some of her toe beans from the icy ground. it wasn't the most comfortable, but it was better than freezing, that's for sure.
her ears twitches, yellow eyes shifting towards the kit once more as he speaks up again. cowkit is his name, and now that she thinks about it, she doesn't think she's ever met someone with the prefix cow. "I'm..s-sssquirrelrise." she introduces, mentally dragging her paws down her face. she swears the cold makes her stutter worse. she's grown used to it at this point and she's just more or less annoyed by it more than anything.
"do..you think.. you'll be - be becoming..an apprentice..this meeting..?" she inquires curiously, turning her head a smidge to fully look at cowkit instead of simply glancing at him.
Oh, great! Friends were great to have. Scorp was noticing she could summon them and they'd just appear like magic. She'd have to force more cats to be her friends so she could summon them, too.
Scorpionkit grinned widely as Hollowpaw approached and began to lead her towards the Grimpeak. She did as she was told, sinking her claws into the ice, only to be amazed at the traction she was suddenly able to gain. "Whoaaa Hullo! You're so smart! This is so neat!" Scorp would speak before getting bold and twirling around on the ice. She'd slide a little, but managed to keep her balance. It wouldn't take them too long to make it to the Grimpeak.
However, as Scorp was settling in beside Hollowpaw, her ears twitched at the cry from Weepingkit. Amber eyes curiously peered around Hollowpaw before the apprentice told her to stay. Stay? Fine. Scorpionkit would pin her ears for a moment before she watched the chaos of a flailing Weepingkit in her friend's jaws. A snort of amusement escaped her. They were so silly! As Weepingkit was placed down and darted around her, she couldn't stop the fit of laughter from escaping her. "Weeping! That's Hullo! They a friend, too! No bite! Only bite the big weirdos," Scorp would reply, head-butting the other affectionately before Houndkit's shenanigans were next to draw their attention.
Her gaze shot from Weepingkit to Houndkit, widening with slight shock at the red substance dripping from his nose. Weepingkit was saying something about how Houndkit would be gone if he lost more! NO! NONONOO!
"Houndkit! Put face into the cold! Maybe it'll freeze that red stuff!! You can't be gone!" As much as Scorpionkit wanted to jump up and chase after Weepingkit to help her brother, her paws felt frozen to the ground. More from the shock of seeing it, than actually being frozen. "Hullo! Hullo, you need to help!" She'd plead, her gaze staring hopefully at Hollowpaw

Emberkit stalked after his siblings, noting with mild annoyance that Weepingkit and Houndkit immediately got themselves into trouble. An unfamiliar apprentice grabbed Weepingkit by the scruff and took him towards their sister, but Emberkit couldn’t help the little growl that rumbled in their throat. Who did that apprentice think she was, just grabbing Emberkit’s brother like that? The kitten hurried over to the gathered group, immediately setting upon Weepingkit and nosing his teary face. It was fine, at least this meant they were following Mother’s orders by being around an apprentice.
Houndkit, unsurprisingly, managed to get blood to pour from his nose. Emberkit licked Weepingkit’s smudgy face before moving to her other sibling. How were they going to get it to stop? Scorpionkit suggested Houndkit plant his face in the snow, but Emberkit shook her head. “Cold hurts. May hurt nose.” Emberkit made to lick some of the blood away to clear it from Houndkit’s face, but grimaced at the harsh, cloying taste. But she kept going if he let her, trying to clean him up.
Sleepysunrise
[ 14 moons | She / Her | Shc Medicine Cat | Shadow Fiend ]
Leave the chaos to the kits. She didn't remember being this troublesome at their age, or loud. Sleepysunrise really wanted to ignore this; she had nothing to gain out of humouring a kid that couldn't heed his own mother's orders, in a way that hit could serve as a lesson and reminder not to disobey Dawnstar again. But her time was never as easily saved; one of the spawn decided to attract attention towards it, and worst of all, ask someone else for help. Her lip quivered into a brief pout, eyes looking aside. What did that one know about nosebleeds.
Heaving a sigh, Sleepysunrise ducked into the den she supposed was now hers, soon enough emerging with a little bit of damp moss from the stores. She didn't care for casual greetings or idle chatter as she blindly pushed past the cats in the crowd until she reached the little assembly, eyes turning to Houndkit as she left the dark shadows. "Nibbler."
She called; it was an odd word on her tongue. It felt wrong to not address him by name as she always did, but that very fact of matter eluded her and she knew him to be a biter.
Leaving brightly coloured eyes on him, she blinked slowly. "Hurt?"
She muttered the question, reaching out to wipe away the incoming blood with a bit of moss, and stuffing what she hadn't used into the bridge of his nose if he allowed her enough time (and the chance in the first place). "Breathe through your mouth. Tell if it doesn't stop."
She would tell the kit, if he wanted to listen at all. And stay put, she wanted to add, but the new medic didn't want to talk more than necessary.
[ @wolfie @Mica @SuspiciousMindz @Moonraven @Fate - I thiiiink those are all with Hound sweats? An ambulance was called so here she is. Erm those not mentioned were probably ignored/walked past | -0.5 moss if Hound lets her work ]

Oo, another cold day. Hillstrider shivered even through his thick pelt, nosing out of the cozy warrior’s den and scanning the ice-covered camp. His yellow eyes lit on a familiar pelt, and the tom grinned dopeily before beginning to pad over. But then another cat approached, giving the same friendly smile Hillstrider did whenever he talked to the Enforcer. Typically, such a thing would not have bothered him. But seeing another cat get so cozy with Briarsplash had flickers of memories tearing at his attention. Mossfreckle smiling at him under the stars, Fogwatcher and Hazelstripe accompanying them to a picnic. Then Rookfire, with his barely concealed ire and possessiveness, seeming to shield Mossfreckle from the rest of them. Hillstrider was shocked at the negative emotion that twisted his heart. Why did the idea of someone else commanding Briarsplash’s attention make his pelt itch!!! This was… new. And he didn’t like it.
Well, far be it from him to prevent Briarsplash from making new friends!!! She needed more of them, that was for sure. Hillstrider tried to catch her eye and give her a smile, giving the unfamiliar tom with her a similar grin and wave of a tail if he turned to see him. Then he settled not too far away, tucking his big paws underneath him to conserve warmth. Lots of kittens out today… was it a big day for ceremonies? Would he get a new apprentice? How exciting!!

Birdecho stretched at the edge of the crowd, a long yawn escaping her. Eugh, she certainly didn’t love the season she had been born in. Leafbare was MISERABLE! And for what reason!! But alas, the young warrior sat down and tucked her feathery tail over her chilly paws. Eugh…..

Cold, brutal, and bitter. It seemed the weather had decided to mimic ShadowClan’s general demeanor. Mistlewhisker grunted as she sat, her haunches immediately freezing solid. Great. But she would not let it affect her too much. The Deputy looked up at Dawnstar, awaiting the start to the meeting. Odds were the kittens from her litter would be apprenticed today… Mistlewhisker held back a smile at the thought. They were good kittens, and she hoped to mentor one.
