All he did was grunt, but nothing angry. He rather appreciated the warmth, though he really wanted mama NightShiver…or Mr. HawkBite. SootStorm was nice though, so he wouldn’t complain. “Thanks.” he muttered, watching the leader carefully.

Coyotepaw grinned, perking up at the call of his name, though his smile slipped a bit as Wormpaw's name followed his.

Are you serious? HIM? A gentle growl left his maw, but he quickly tried to cover it. A scowl remained though, his tail tip twitching behind him as he stepped forward to stand behind the apprentices.

Yes! It was here!! finally!! true freedom! He was truly going to be free!!!! His gaze shot around camp, a small frown forming. He wanted Wildpaw to be there... she was supposed to be up here with him... and she wasn't...

He tried to shake the thought, moving to sit beside Coyotepaw, who shifted away, shooting him a glare. The smaller apprentice frowned... what was going on as of late? and why was Coy treating him like this... just a moon or so ago he was sure the older tom was going to shred him over an accident.

ugh what a nuisance. not that she would say it outright, but thats what this kit was, grottokit, was it? "yeah yeah, i hear you." she listened for names being called, not her times 12, and three paws to warriors, coyotepaw, wormpaw, and duskpaw. WAIT

DUSKPAW? HER?

WAS SHE FINALLY GOING TO BE A WARRIOR?

she picked up grottokit by the scruff and padded up, her claws digging into the frozen ground to make sure she didn't slip and fall face-first. she put him down and took a step back, listening for anything going on.

Finally, finally, FINALLY. Grottokit immediately wriggled out of Duskpaw's grip (an easy feat, he was BIG for his age already) and booked it over to Mother's feet. He turned in place to look out at the others with his chin raised and his tail curled neatly over his forepaws.

Uhm. Wait what? He was being made an apprentice? Now? Here? In ShadowClan? It... Shouldn't be. The longer he stayed in this Clan, the worse it would be for him. He had to leave... Somehow. But it was too late.

Get out there 'n' make me proud, why dontcha? I know you've always wanted to be a honourable warrior... Now's your chance. You're one step closer now.

His paws involuntarily moved himself forward, and he padded up closer towards the Grimpeak, gaze cast downwards so he wouldn't have to look at anyone. If he could slip out at moonhigh, when there were little to no cats awake, nobody would notice. Surely nobody would notice.

Well, all good things must come to an end. The dilute calico’s ears shot up when she heard her and her siblings called to action. STARS! FINALLY! She could not get out of the nursery fast enough! She bounced to her paws and quickly shook out her long fur, turning to groom the worst of it before Owlthroat came over. With a purr, yet another rarity for today, Yars reached up to touch noses with Daddy Owl.

“Don’t worry Daddy Owl! We’ll be warriors before ya know it!” And she meant it. But for now, she was relieved to be out of the nursery at least. Yard didn’t need ushering, she raced Talonkit over to the other kits gathering. Shooting Mimickit a pointed glare before sitting next to her sister. As far as she was concerned, her and her siblings would be the most formidable forces ShadowClan had ever seen.

Oh, neat. Just the thing to further prove herself better than its arrogant sisters. A part of him certainly did feel a little bad, of course. There was really no reason why his sisters should be held back, but was he complaining? Of course not. Making their was closer to the Grimpeak with confident steps, the multicoloured tabby held their head high, something they'd seen other kits and apprentices do whenever they would approach Dawnstar for their ceremonies.

Mimickit shot a look back at Yarrowkit and Talonkit, just in time to catch a glare thrown at him from Yarrowkit. Over the moons, they'd gotten used to not being particularly phased by dirty looks. So he simply looked back at them with an amused look in his eyes, and promptly turned away, hoping it would stir some unnecessary frustration or envy inside them.

Listen normally Bleedingpaw was totally one for meetings but the ice outside was NOT something he was messing with thank you. He could barely stay upright on a good day, with slippery hard ice he was risking breaking his nose if he left the warm apprentices then.


Hearing some of Dawnstars kittens gather though did draw his attention.


Wobbling to the edge of the den and sticking his golden head out the tom grinned, whispering a "Remember what I said about neat fur! You can do it!" at the kits before settling to watch.
