Coyoteblossom ♠ He / They ♠ Shadowclan warrior

He walked out of the nursery, his brows furrowed his eyes glazed over with emotion. Stars this couldn't be happening... first Pantherkit... now Kinkkit... two of five of his kits remained... only two and one was Snakekit. The young tom was bound to get himself killed and after everything, Coyoteblossom wouldn't even be surprised.

He autopiloted his way into the clearing and toward the fresh-kill pile. He grabbed the first piece of prey he could find, not even really sure what it was, whatever it was, he'd eat it.

He sat near the nursery entrance, eat his... whatever. He took a bite, chewed and then swallowed. He barely tasted it, his tired gaze fell on the medicine cat den where he'd just taken his daughter's body to bury. Her last words still haunted him, they were so odd... so very out of character for a kit of her age. Coy just couldn't shake the words or the feeling.

Coyoteblossom tried his best to though, taking another bite of the flavourless whatever he'd picked up before once more swallowing. He slowly looked over the camp, everyone continuing on with their lives while he was stuck, it felt like his whole world had just ended. It was only a matter of time before everyone else was taken from him too.

Blackberrybat saw Coyoteblossom laying on his own, his eyes dazed and tired as he practically ate without even a thought. He sighed, the small tom padded over slowly, ears pinned.

"Coy..? need some company darling..?" He murmured, laying down with coyote, snuggling up into his warm, soft pelt.

"You okay love..?" He asked softly, nuzzling Coyotes neck. He just wanted to help..

Silence fell between the two as Coyoteblossom's whiskers twitched "Kinkkit-" His gaze fell to his paws, his ears pinning back "She's gone Bats... It's my fault. When she threw up I- I should have taken her to the medicine cat- but I just... thought it was normal" They said, unable to bring himself to meet Blackberry's gaze.

Coyote was in pain, and it hurt blackberrybat to see. He sighed, nuzzling his neck and his tail flicked, wrapping around Coyoteblossom.

"It's not your fault my love.. you didn't know- no cat couldve.. okay?" He murmured softly.

"Stars... I've... had to deal with them alone Bats. Worm hasn't even spoken a word to them or me since- well basically since they were born" He laughed dryly, shooting a tired glance toward his paws

"It may not be my fault, but I certainly didn't help." He said with a sigh "She said words a cat moons beyond her age shouldn't have had the maturity to say- It was... scary almost" He murmured, his daughter's death replaying in his head as his brows furrowed.

Blackberrybat sighed gently using a paw to tilt his chin up so Coyote looked at him. He had to tell him- didn't he? Blackberry inhaled deeply, golden eyes looking up at the handsome tom.

"Darlibg.. we'll see them again.. and while we lost three kits.. were.. well.. we're gaining more.." He smiled softly, clearly terrified.

Coyoteblossom's whiskers twitched as he turned to look at Blackberrybat "What... what do you mean?" He narrowed his eyes looking over the other tom. He knew what he meant but he wasn't entirely sure how he himself felt. Stars...

Blackberrybat looked down, ears drooping down as he averted Coyotes gaze, shuffling his front paws together.

"Im.. I'm expecting Coyote.."

He murmured, gulping. He was terrified of this.. terrified of what would happen.
