minkpaw stepped back into the shadows, long dark shapes stretching over the sandy ground, cast there by tall rocky walls and large pine trees. she was putting off speaking to lostspark, unfamiliar fear still deep set in the unfamiliar environment. It took a few pawsteps, quiet second thoughts and a ultimate decision, until she was standing in front of the medicine den.
"Lostspark?" she called, not yet daring to cross the imaginary line she had drawn between herself and the den. she would ask for her other evaluation, nothing more. to request training so shortly after getting here, being threatened with death and confined to camp wouldve been silly. though, speaking thinking of training made her curious, how different would shadowclan training be to riverclans? she couldnt remember ever being told what shadowclan trains their warriors for, why should she have, but one could assume she would be taught soon. and perhaps shadowclan would actually provide proper training, rather than having to try and find a singular cat that might perhaps do a complete lesson with her. this had been a long time coming, lacking spirit and gratitude for the things that she had done for that clan, combined with unstable leaders. that was a losing battle. and a considerably large part of her was glad that she had realised before working herself into the ground. selfish or not.

Minkpaw's scent had already wafted into her den, so when the apprentice eventually called out for her, Lostspark was already making her way over. Fogged amber eyes fixed on her second apprentice after she'd emerged from her den. "Yes?" Lostspark had an inkling of why the apprentice had sought her out - but it would be better for both of them if the darker feline spoke plainly of her wishes.

"you said my other training would be evaluated and i wanted to check n ask when that would happen?" she began, silver gaze immediately on her mentor as soon as she had emerged, it had never come easy to her, to see what other cats thought, but somehow she still clung to the idea of testing the waters before committing.
"and i wanted to see if you'd be open to start training already" she had chosen her words relatively carefully, not planned word for word like she had when actually trying to join shadowclan, but careful in the way that she had put care into selecting them in a hopefully non pressuring way, asking instead of demanding.
