It had been too long since Spottedpaw had left the camp to go hunting and was worried that she was either getting rusty or that Twilightstar wouldn't accept her training if it had been done so long ago. With this in mind she asked around for any helpful warrior that could take her out for training, most were busy, some didn't care but a few pointed her towards Berrystorm as someone as reliable.

When she found him she felt a bit of hesitation but with a sigh she spoke up. "Berrystorm... I've heard your a good hunter, and a good rabbit catcher.. Can you take me out to do a touch up on my lessons?" It would be just her luck if she got a no.

Berrystorm's ears perked up at the sound of a cat calling her name, and the she-cat lifted her head to fix her green eyes on Spottedpaw as the apprentice approached her.

She wanted a touch up on her hunting skills? Sure, Berrystorm could do that. The dilute tortoiseshell blinked warmly. ''Yeah, of course! Were you looking for basics or just hunting in general?''

"If you are offering and willing, battle training too." This was something that Spottedpaw knew she never did. She hated the idea of fighting another cat, of harming another cat but if she was ever to become a warrior she needed to finish her training. It was simple as.

Spottedpaw wanted touch-ups on her battle skills, as well? That wasn't a problem with the warrior, but it made her wonder why the apprentice hadn't sought out Batglare---her mentor, as far as Berrystorm knew---for this.

Berrystorm nodded. ''Yeah, sure. I can do that,'' she mewed, getting to her paws. The she-cat stretched each leg in turn before starting towards the camp entrance. ''Let's get a move on, then. I'd like to return by sunfall.''

So she thought the two of them would be done before sundown? That was wonderful news in her ears. Without much word in response she followed Berrystorm to where she thought was a good spot to train. Whenever they stopped Spottedpaw would sniff the air just to see if she could get a scent of rabbit. "Which one are we picking first? I feel hunting right? Rabbits must be early to bed, they run so much."

”We can start with hunting if that’s what you want,” Berrystorm meowed, leading the way out of camp and into the territory. “Tell me what prey scents you can detect, Spottedpaw.”

Spottedpaw tasted the air and focused on the scents. Some rather old scent were scattered about but there was one particular scent that caught her attention. It was fresh, smelt of grass and dirt and reminder her of... Rabbits. "I smell a rabbit, ma'am." She whispered as her whiskers twitched in anticipation. The apprentice wanted to run out for it but she waited for some information on how to do this properly...
