As you approach, you are unnerved by their smoldering gazes.

You know you're being judged for all your worth, but you're determined to make your case. It's not every day cats try to reincarnate, and you're tired of being trapped here. Perhaps your first life didn't go as planned.. but the next one is going to be better.

All you have to do is answer them.

"What makes you stand out from the rest of the cats who want another chance?"

He couldn't stand another moment in the dark forest. he didn't belong there. he always fought for what he considered the greater good- for shadowclan, at least. was that not what cats were meant to do? defend their clan, their loyalties nowhere else? if it was because he wasn't too afraid to share his opinion, he refused to apologize. he ran his mouth and he would until his ability to speak was forcibly taken from him.

"I was given a stick figure for a body and was told to work with that, so i did, because what was i going to do, scream at the stars? like they'd listen, even if that wouldn't make me look crazy." he'd talk to the council he would any other cat. it's not that he didn't respect them- though he wasn't sure if he did yet- speaking "respectfully" to get the same point across was stupid unless you used it to your advantage. if these cats were as wise as they say, they wouldn't care.

"I found a fighting style that worked for me. i used what i could. And then, of course, the rats happened because rats are stupid and can't understand our language. notably there were also a lot of them, but i still failed, i'll admit that." a bit of shame had burrowed into his brain like a thorn at the thought. "I don't believe sitting around and being sad about my mistake is helping anyone, though, so we're moving on." yellowtwist would rather not pay attention to that. "If i get luckier this time, cool, it looks like i finally got what i deserved. if not, i'll figure it out again."

the dark tan cat weaved her way out of the fog surrounding the area, her eyes fixated on the black-and-yellow cat. UGH. he was a chatty one, she regretted having to listen to this case, but she couldnt turn back could she?

hah! he straight up admitted to having failed, and yet, it wasnt enough. "i'm hearing no semblance of a plan." she snarled, icy blue eyes fixated on yellowtwist. "you worked with what you had, got to be an enforcer, and still werent enough"

it felt like yellowtwist had just been scratched on an open wound. "are you deaf or just stupid?" he hissed, the fur on his spine raising. "working with what i had and becoming an enforcer was an accomplishment on my part. if anything, it was your failure for deciding i would be on my deathbed at the slightest breeze." his opinion on these cats had quickly soured. he really, really wanted to attack this cat, but he had a lifetime of self-control practice against this. at that point, it was written is his code- if you are not in battle, keep your claws sheathed. it wasn't what yellowtwist wanted, it was what he needed.

yellowtwist refused to calm himself down. if he needed it, there's no better motivator than anger. yellowtwist hid it the best he could, so he appeared calm. "my fighting style works better in crowds. that's why i want another chance. what are the chances that my issues repeat itself, and even if i do, i'll probably develop another fighting style than the exact same one."

"What a stand-out audition." If Jaystride could slow-clap, he would. "Are you deaf or just stupid? Dustpoppy wanted an actual plan, not fighting style this, fighting style that. You can fight-style your way back into hell well enough without reviving, and the bonus is: you won't die again." He flicked a rock toward the ShadowClanner, mostly out of boredom. "And I don't want to hear more about you being a stick figure, if you can't handle the challenges you got born with, you aren't gonna be able to handle the disability that comes with resurrection. You aren't a leader, you aren't being completely healed. You'd be a wounded stick figure who dies at the slightest breeze, so for sky's sake, take a second to actually think ahead before you run your mouth again. It's awfully tiresome to hear you whine."

Snowleopard | Female + She/Her | Dark Forest Warden

Snowleopard hung back in the shadows along the edge, observing. As Dustpoppy and Jaystride made their comments, she couldn't help her whiskers twitching in silent agreement. This was almost comical. Did this cat really think that whining was going to be a good strategy? She's heard many things before, but not this. "I'm afraid I have to concur with the other two wardens." The bengal mewed, only now stepping forward. Her white pelt carrying a type of eery glow against her black bengal markings.

"All I have heard you do now is complain." Whining more like, but she wouldn't get into that unless she needed to. "It sounds like you already accomplished more than what many warriors who come before us do in their lives. So why go back? What do you want to go back to do when you already achieved the rank of Enforcer?" She wasn't confident she'd get a good answer to this, but Snowleopard strode forward, standing with her fellow wardens, and waited. Perhaps their words would give him something to think about.
