Eclipse padded through the outskirts of the territories. He took a deep breath taking in the scents and sounds. He always found it so peaceful at this time of the year. The black tabby tom glanced around as he entered a clearing. He didn't see anyone and decided here would be a good spot for him to rest for a bit. He sat and began to groom his pelt.

Thistle padded through the outskirts. He was a bit far from the old barn. Maybe they’d find some good prey, or a new place to visit here. He froze in surprise when he saw the other cat.

“Oh, uh, hey!” Thistle meowed at the other cat. It wasn’t often he saw other cats around. It was usually always nice though when they met others

The black tabby jumped, whipping around wide-eyed to see who was there. They squinted their eye once they locked their gaze onto Thistle. They quickly looked around, checking to make sure this wasn't another border mishap. He sucked in a sharp breath before speaking "Hello. Who might you be?"
His tone had come across a little more aggressive than he'd intended but he couldn't take it back now so he decided to move on from the thought. They once more turned their full attention to the stranger, eyeing him up and down trying to assess his threat level.

Thistle gazed back at the other cat, “Oh, I’m Thistle! Who’re you” They meowed, ignoring the cat’s semi-aggressive tone. He was probably just having a grumpy day if anything,

Eclipse quirked a brow, as he considered his options. okay not a clan cat. He thought to himself narrowing his eye farther as he scanned the other, he didn't seem older than Eclipse and was beginning to feel like less of a threat the longer the tabby tom examined him. He gave a small nod in response before speaking "My name is Eclipse" He said, his tone was much softer this time around "Do you live around here?" He said, looking around for a den before sitting and wrapping his tail neatly around his paws. The loner's non-tattered ear flicked as a bird flew over, but his amber gaze remained locked on Thistle.

Thistle tipped his head slightly. This cat seemed really wary of him. Maybe he was just scared of him? No- that couldn’t be it- Thistle wasn’t very scary.

“Well hi Eclipse!”Thistle greeted with a smile, “Uh, yea, a bit farther away though, my barn closer to where all those weird Clan cats live” Thistle lightly chuckled to himself, “I assume you live near here?” Thistle asked. Maybe that was why he seemed so cautious, maybe Thistle had accidentally crossed onto Eclipse’s territory. Well- wait, don’t only Clan cats have territory? Well I guess anyone can claim that they have their own territory.

He gave a small smile and nodded, visibly relaxing now. He sat and neatly wrapped his tail around his paws "So you're a barn cat? interesting" he murmured the last part to himself in thought, This cat wasn't a threat, that was clear and yet again he had met another barn cat, he wondered if Thistle knew Roosterflame- He stopped that train of thought quickly, deciding not all barn cats knew each other "mm? oh- sort of? my den is quite a bit away from here" He said with a more genuine smile.

“Yeah!” Thistle purred. Maybe this cat wasn’t so grumpy. Perhaps he could make a new friend today.

“Oh- that’s good. I thought I might be intruding on your territory or something” Thistle smiled back, “Y’know like those Clan cats do” Thistle didn’t really like the idea of keeping a certain place away from others, but he guessed it made since. It would keep bad cats out, but then nobody is truly bad.

Eclipse nodded in response "I never understood that... how can anyone own the territory? Those 'borders' are the reason my ear is shredded" He said, pointing with his paw to his deaf ear. His tail swayed behind him, sweeping gently over the grass. He glanced around "So... Thistle, what's it like living in a barn? My mama said that cats who were raised outside of a two-legs home..." he paused for a second to dramatically raise his paw to his forehead "are just violent bags of fleas" He said, followed by a laugh

Thistle smiled, “Heh, I’m glad you agree—“ Thistle’s smile faded to a worried frown, “Oh, geez! That must’ve been terrible, I’m sorry, that must’ve hurt” They winced. He was lucky that Clan cats he ran into weren’t that mean.

Thistle gasped dramatically, “How rude! I am truly offended!” He couldn’t help but let a small giggle escape, “Uh, it’s pretty nice actually” They meowed, “ Plenty of prey, mine barn is a bit old and has lots of broken pieces of wood in it, so it’s a bit cold in winter, but there’s one right by where I sleep when it’s warm where you can see the sunset! It’s really pretty, oh and-“ Thistle paused. Oh heck, They we’re talking to much again.

“Oh, um, sorry, I’m talking to much” Thistle gave an akward laugh, “What’s it like where you live?” He asked.
