Raccoonweb purred as he padded out of the warriors' den, his last training session with Speckledpaw had gone better than he could have ever expected. They'd actually had a really good time together, and Raccoonweb had confirmed something he'd been questioning since apprenticeship.

He was hopelessly in love with his best friend, and he couldn't get them out of his mind. Stars, he adored Specks. They'd shared a nest as apprentices, which should have been a hint that he had feelings for the other tom but... Raccoon wasn't the most emotionally aware. Racc felt his pelt heat up as he caught a glimpse of Specklepaw's fur from outside the den. He felt his mouth go dry as his heart began to race. What is even going on?

Before Raccoonweb knew it he was padding towards his life long friend "Hey Specks! How's training going? I had a lot of fun hunting with you- Was... wondering if you wanted to go out n' do somefin?" He said, grinning at his little fish pun.

The new warrior tilted his head as he waited for Speckledpaw's response.

Speckledpaw looked up, his eyes bleary from the past few days of sobbing his wretched heart out. Redsurge was gons- the closest thing to a mother he had- and she had died in her sleep- somehow. He didn't believe it. He couldn't. That's when Raccoon padded up.

A small smile formed on his maw as Racc's padded up, his pelt heating up and eyes averting the subject that had caught his heart. That's what Raccs asked that dreaded question.

"I-its uh- it's going okay I guess- Redsurge passed away.. so yeah- I think I coukd do some-fin fun" He made a half-smile at the pun.

Oh... oh no he didn't... know that. Stars he was... not a good friend "Speckles... I'm... I'm so sorry" He murmured stepped forward to nuzzling Speckledpaw's cheek "I know it sucks losin' a mentor- Crow had hers replaced but there were... other circumstances at play" The tom's whisker's twitched as he remembered his sister's former mentor and that fateful day.

He was glad she'd been exiled, Crowpaw hadn't deserved to be hurt like that and it still made Raccoonweb's blood boil. He sucked a breath in through his teeth to calm down before smiling

"sick! anything ya' wanna do specifically?" He asked tilting his head "Riverclan is always needin' prey" The new warrior chuckled, his green gaze locked onto Speckledpaw. Had Speckled been any other cat this would be seen as weird, but Speckled and Raccoon were very obviously into eachother so to the rest of the clan this just seemed... normal.

"Actually- could you maybe teach me how to swim?" He asked, resting his head against Raccoon's strong chest, trying to keep himself grounded. If he could just hang on- just hang in there- maybe they'd be okay- and maybe they'd be together one day.
