Hearing the familiar voice they moved their head from inside the elders den to outside. Hivepaw gave Nightpaw a smile and patted the ground next to them. "Can't say no to that." they purred. They attempted to maintain an air of nonchalantness but their tail always gave them away. Their stripped tail curled on top of their paws and kept twitching nervously.

Creepingpaw dragged his white paws slightly as he slowly bounded over towards the forming groups. It was odd that he would join an event like this now, especially after the recent loss. Acornfall called for all those who were bored to join, but bored wasn’t the right word for Creepingpaw. He was empty and hollow, and desperate to fill the aching wound of grief with anything that could distract him. The silvery and black striped apprentice kept his ears flat against his skull, his once piercing green eyes now hazed over as he gazed ahead, padding over towards the horde of cats in the supply retrieval group. But he made sure to situate himself in the back of the group as he sat back on his haunches and rested his tail over his paws.

The tom scanned the group of gathering cats with undertones of longing laced in his expression in an attempt to catch the stare of even one familiar face. Creepingpaw’s whiskers twitched as he briefly found himself reminiscing. The uneasy look that was spread across his maw softened, but for only a moment. His lips curled into a bittersweet smile, remembering the time that Shockhoney pranked him by pushing him into Cattail Pond. But Creepingpaw’s smile quickly vanished, remembering that he would never be able to return that favor and prank her back ever again.

Rosekit padded forward with interest in her eyes, she fixed really would love help make nests!

“Hey, raggedear, right?” She meowed to the warrior “do you where the best spot to find feathers?, I think they might cheer up creepingpaw!, they look so sad…” she looked behind her at creepingpaw, the apprentice looked anger and yet sadness, I wonder what’s wrong? she thought to herself before looking right back at raggedear.

Mistwhisper headed towards the gathering cats. She kind of wanted to work on the nursery...

As the apprentice disassociated and stared off into the distance, his distracted green eyed gaze caught the sight of an unfamiliar, curious kit peering at him from near what appeared to be Raggedear. Creepingpaw slow blinked, instantly recognizing Raggedear as one of the cats who went on the recent prophetic journey with his mentor, Lavendersong. He had never spoken to the hornet, but Creepingpaw held immense respect for anyone who helped protect his mentor. That, and Creepingpaw hoped to be a hornet one day too.

The lean tom’s black ears twitched at the sound of his name being mentioned. Normally, Creepingpaw wouldn’t be caught dead talking to kits. But he no longer felt the urge to appear cool anymore. Beneath the barrier, Creepingpaw yearned for connection. Beginning to smirk, Creepingpaw padded over to Rosekit and Raggedear as he began to crouch down to get on Rosekit’s level. The dense fog in Creepingpaw’s lush green eyes dissipated as they glistened playfully, the tone of his voice mischievous and teasing, “The best spots are nests on the tallest trees… how far up can you climb?!” Creepingpaw questioned curiously, his crouch slowly shifting into a playbow as he tilted his head.
