Alright, so, Kestrelpaw hadn't exactly been keen on the idea of returning back to camp. Not exactly ideal; Heroneye had honestly been hoping that they'd simply return to camp without much complaint, though a part of her knew that was unlikely. Softpaw was much more receptive, even hanging her head in shame, but showed no intention of returning to camp anytime soon. There was even a glimmer of mischief in her eyes, something Heroneye honestly hadn't thought Softpaw was capable of.

Both apprentices had asked Heroneye to accompany them, and the Lionheart was well and truly torn. On the one paw, it was a pretty obvious compromise. The apprentices wanted to go out, they needed a warrior to do it with, and Heroneye didn't really have anything going on (besides, you know... sleeping). But on the other paw, there was, well, the whole reason these rules had been implemented: safety. There were cliffs to walk off of, predators to provoke, borders to cross--Heroneye could go on and on. Many of those issues were indeed magnified by the lack of an escort, not to mention the low nighttime visibility. Additionally, the Lionheart wanted to instill the rule into the apprentices; they would be returning to RiverClan territory any day now, and they simply couldn't afford to have any cats acting out of line in any way. It could honestly bring a whole other disaster down upon the Clan.

The more Heroneye thought of it, the more saying no became the much more logical option in her mind. Then came the hard part: actually vocalizing it. She was sure the apprentices would hate her, but that honestly felt much tamer than the images of them, laying crushed at the bottom of a cliff somewhere.

"I really believe it would be best to return to camp now," Heroneye began, her expression even more serious then. "I know it may seem unfair, but these rules exist for your own safety. In any case, it's too late to be out and about now. You both must know what happened to Dusklion, and in the night, it's even easier to lose one's footing. You're not in trouble this time, and I would have no problems with taking you two out some other time, but for now, we should return to camp. You may leave in the daytime, when it's bright out--if and when you find a warrior to accompany you, that is."

Alright, Heroneye had said it. She wasn't exactly expecting a positive reception anymore, but perhaps she would have to get used to that sooner or later, right?

Kestrelpaw felt a surge of anger catch on her tail. She knew she wasn't supposed to argue with a lionheart, but she wanted to suprise Softpaw with the skyfire! Pleeeease? Kestrelpaw pleaded. We were just gonna go up that hill! She cocked her head and added quietly, To see the big bangy thingys! In the sky! Her green gaze was soft, and she would like it to stay that way...

Softpaw gently slapped Kesteralpaw with her tail, "Just listen! Shes my mentor I can get in trouble if you be a dingus. We can just ask Willowtail to go with us." Softpaw meowed playfully, gently touching her nose to her mentors should in acceptance. "Sorry Heroneye...... we will bring a warrior with us, we'll find one and I promise we won't go out alone again."
