Ferretkit looked down at his paws. "I know I am the oldest and it's my job to keep us all together....but...I think I'm failing at being a big brother." He said turning his eyes up on his mom.

Heathernose felt a pang in her chest. When had her son grown to be so much like her? "Oh, sweetie." She murmured, stroking her tail down Ferretkit's back. "Honey, it's not your job to keep everycat together." She meowed, lifting her son's face to look at her by placing the tip of her tail under his chin. "Everycat has their own feelings, and is responsible for their own actions. The responsibility isn't your's alone." She touched her nose to his forehead. "The family is going through a...difficult time right now. But it'll be okay. You'll see." She purred, hoping that this would bring him some comfort. If he was any more like her, it may not.

Ferretkit listens to his mother's words and nodded after she finished. But he and so much questions to ask...and his feelings felt like right now that they were all drifting apart. Unlike Songkit and him, they were as close as they could be. "Are you sure?"
EGRETKIT she/her . 3 moons . dark brown and lilac tabby with dappling with cream markings and blue eyes

"autumnpatch is a real pretty name!" although, egretkit hasn't got a clue as to what an autumn is. she'll ask papa about that later. which, that's pushed to the very far back of her mind as mister patch asks about plumkit, leading her to nod quite dramatically. "plumkit's my best friend! she's super duper smart, seriously, you should see her! she acts like a big cat." of course, plummy wasn't actually a big cat, she was just very serious. which is awesome and cool.
bwuh, vinepaw was becoming a warrior! she doesn't know him, but obviously, he has to be pretty cool to become a warrior. a tunneler, too. hey, uncle crows is a tunn-ler!, she thinks, immediately making a mental connection. "vinesmoke! vinessSSSMOOKEE!" she yowls.
okay, now things were getting confusing. "hey, mister patch," she whispers (or tries, it's more like a whisper-scream). "what's that word mean? the ex-eel..wait no!! exile mean?" haha, yes! her speech was getting better!! anyway, exile doesn't sound too good. what does sound good is hunting! mainly because there was yummy prey involved. plus, she can go warm up in the nursery for a lil' bit now.
[ sorry for the wait ;w; !! ]
"An... exile?" did he really want to be the one who had to explain to this innocent kit what that meant? Would she understand? Well, better now from a Clanmate than later from somecat else, especially if that cat was Twilightstar... exiling this sweet kit. He briefly thought of if he should honey the truth, but this topic wasn't the kind to lessen its definition. "It means you've done something very bad and you're not allowed on Clan territory. In the eyes of your Clan, you are no more than a rogue with a Clan cat's name, and you are to be treated as such by warriors and apprentices alike. And we... don't accept such cats near our borders."
He felt awkward afterwards, but there had to be another awkward warrior telling another curious kit what the deal was with exile, so that made him feel a tad bit better. "Your mother can probably explain it better than I can."
Vinesmoke, oh now that was a good name right there. Strong distinctive and it seemed to really suit the tom, and Crowtooths chest swelled with pride in the small part he had in Vinesmokes development. That was a good cat right there, and despite how much being loud hurt his throat Crowtooth cheered loudly, a wide crooked grin in place. "VINESMOKE! VINESMOKE! VINESMOK-OW!!!"
Unfortunately his and the clans cheering really had overpowered Strawberrykits little demands and the deputy had kinda only half been paying attention to her antics as he watched the clan and new warrior. Which had backfired as him as he'd dismissed the rumbling stomach (resolving to feed her one of the pheasants the tom had caught earlier to fix that), and the climbing on him she was doing having passed it off as just kit stuff. Until she bit him that is.
"Owowowow oooooow kiddo off, off! Yer bitin' too hard thats my ear ya got dammmit, why- stars dammit ya raptor that hurt."
It was a tricky situation, prying Strawberrykit off of his ear without yanking and risking tearing the little tattered flaps he had left while also not growling as he wanted to and potentially scaring the kitten. She was an evil little beast and this action reinforced this belief, as well as the lesson that the tom was not to let his guard down around her just because she was cute. But, for all she was a coyote or something in a cat suit she was a kitten, and being mean to kittens was not ok.
Still eventually she was detached from his ear and Crowtooth could feel the little blood spots spaced to fit her fangs, so he was keeping the large restraining paw on her side in place should she go to bite again.
"Strawberrykit why did ya bite me like that? That was kinda..." evil "mean an' not good kit behavior. Nippin' in play is ok but ya bit too hard an' drew blood an' thats not ok ta do ta a clanmate." Enemies Crowtooth couldnt care less about if the little nipper maimed them.
It was hard to scold her though and the tom sighed, replying to her declaration resigned to this behavior already. "Yes yes ya bite well, yer gonna be a hell o' a fighter when ya get older. An' Im glad yer gonna be a tunneler, tunnelers are cool an' Rabbitpaw is good at it so Im sure you already have a leg up.
Come on, how about I teach ya some battle moves, as long as ya promise ta not bite me that hard durin' it. Maybe that'll burn some excess energy."

A trill of happiness escaped Strawberrykit as she was tugged away. Oh look, the demon child was laughing at him now. More accurately, she was delighted, feeling happier and lighter and more prone to cuddles than ever. The 'why?' faded into the background. She didn't care, not when her stomach had stopped rumbling for the first time in what felt like forever.
Eerily round, vibrant blue eyes stared up at the black and white cat with an air of innocence. "You. Crowtooth. Teach bite. Biting." She had a leg up? What did that mean? Strawberrykit pointedly looked down at her hindleg and then lifted the paw off the ground. This cat was strange. Her attention snapped back to said cat at his next words. "Teach more? Yes." A beat, and then Strawberrykit frowned, recalling Snowybreeze's gentle words and mannerisms. "...Please..?"
