Alpinepaw was sitting there, listening to the stories. She wanted to share some, but she was worried that they will make fun of her stories. Alpinepaw cleaned herself while waiting.

Antpaw stares, unimpressed, at Basilkit. Their story was nothing worth mentioning, same with the second. Instead of fear, all it did was remind him of his own weakness. It was always apprentices going out in these stories and getting hurt becuase they were stupid idiots. Just like... Fleckpaw.

Antpaw turns to Alpinepaw. "We don't have all day. You look like you have something to share, tell your story." He snaps.

Alpinepaw froze as she realized that it was her turn. Her eyes darted all over the place for a moment before she calmed down. She was thinking about which story she should tell.

A few minutes later, she meowed quietly that only nearby cats can hear her,

 

"Uh.....When I was a young kit....I was in the clearing and I saw Fawnsplash return from the...major battle....between the four clans....or was it Thunderclan VS Riverclan? I looked over to her and...soon I screamed ear-splittingly for about thirty seconds.....I was so shocked to see part of her ear missing....I watched the other cats return from the raid, my ears flattened and my eyes dilated. I screamed yet again and ran to a fern tree. I was worried and frightened about my clanmates because......I had never seen a whole bunch of cats injured at one time.....I looked back at them before heading into the fern tree......Then, I curled up into a ball and hid there.........Stormclaw walked over to me and reassured me by saying, "Little one? Are you alright? I know it's distressing to see things like that... But better to be hurt than to be dead, right?" .....And......" She looked around at the cats watching her. Her gaze shifted to the night sky and the stars and she continued. "I said "Maybe?" while I was quivering....Stormclaw said to me that I should be happy that there are more warriors...to protect the clan. I replied to him, "I don't like raids...including the aftermath." He replied to me saying something about facing your fears as a warrior. Stormclaw believed I can do it too....I climbed to to the top of the fern tree and whimpered softly. I thought to myself....if I should become a warrior like Stormclaw.....I wanted him to keep me company. I still remember the view from the tree....I was looking for Mousepaw...Fortunately, Mousepaw was not hurt. They asked some questions. There were a lot of things that....happened...I want to tell all of the details...So basically, I told Mousepaw that I didn't like raids...and they are not a kind thing to do. They didn't respond....I forgot what happened next........This was my first actual experience of being scared..."

I felt the blood trickle down my leg.
It was cold..ice cold.

Basilkit sat there, waiting for someone to say that they liked her story, no one did. Tears filled her eyes, even looking over at antpaw, with this awful look. A tear rolled down her face. Why was everyone being so mean? She started to finally cry. "NO ONE LIKES M-MY STORY! I GUESS IT'S TO STUPID!" she said yelling and crying, not being able to hold her feelings back.

"That's not a scary story." Antpaw snarls, even more mean tempered than usual, "That's just you being a coward. Nevermind, so you've got nothing. Even the little kit's story was better than this."

Why had he come here again? Right, it was to get his mind off all the recent cat deaths and how there was nothing he could do about them. But it wasn't helping. Nothing was helping. It was only making things worse. Antpaw rakes his claws along the ground and lashes his tail out.
