cobwebfern was half-numb as she let herself be bustled into the medicine den. she wasn't very hurt, really- but the immense trauma of confronting.. him.. and then.. killing him.. had fractured her heart. she felt sick. she barely heard anything, the static in her ears drowning out whatever tried to get through. she slumped into her nest, helped by primrosepa-adder. at the loss of contact she whimpered, curling into herself and trying very hard not to start crying again.
this pursuit was unsuccessful, however, because upon laying eyes on berryshine, cobwebfern burst into tears. she couldn't get her mouth to work, her brain and vocal cords to work together to make coherent words. berryshine looked like concern incarnate, her voice desperate, and cobweb's sobs worsened. she was making her best friend's life worse. she hated herself, she hated this, she hated this, she hated this!!

cobwebfern is riverclan’s medicine cat apprentice !
she and berryshine have a semi-closed den policy .
Caveclaw gave a nod as she walked in when Berryshine said what she was here for and all that.
"No pain from what I can tell." They replied "Definitely feels weaker, but it doesn't hurt anymore."
She was glad it had seemed to have healed decently fine, no bumps in the road or anything.
She didn't flinch away when Berry poked the leg, as there was no pain.

As Cobwebfern´s sobs worsened, Primroseadder slowly but surely curled herself around the medicine cat apprentice and began to wash her ears in a comforting manner. ´´It´s okay, Cobwebfern...´´ She murmured every few heartbeats. ´´It´s okay...´´
There were a few silent moments before she turned to Berryshine and said, ´´All she mentioned was that she killed him. I don´t know who him is, but...´´
Berryshine felt hopeful at first when Drizzlepaw focused on her tail, but she quickly realized he simply thought she was playing — and, of course, didn't have the heart to stop at first, letting out a somber sigh as she felt it in her chest. No, Drizzlepaw couldn't hear a thing... he'd only responded to the visual and physical stimulation, nothing auditory.
She glanced up at Adderstrike, giving her a sympathetic glance. "...I... think you're right. You've never heard Drizzlepaw say any actual words, have you?" She paused as that crossed her mind, frowning thoughtfully. She tilted her head, still flicking her tail in front of Drizzle, an idea slowly coming to mind.
"M-Maybe... we can still communicate with him, somehow. He can still see and feel just fine, it seems, s-so maybe... there'd be a way to give signals as a way to... talk to him? In a sense?" Berryshine wasn't quite sure if that all made sense, as she had a tendency to ramble and not always formulate her thoughts coherently. But she drew her tail back away from Drizzle's batting paws, trying to catch his attention again.
Silently the she-cat raised her tail with a little flick of greeting, offering a soft smile, trying to communicate a 'hello'. Maybe Drizzlepaw would get it, try and greet back? This was all new territory... but it was an idea they could try, at least.
[ additionally: i found this as for some suggestions of sign language that maybe adder could try and implement for drizzlepaw? and berry could help brainstorm some ideas and training? : ) lmk any thoughts here or in vm <3 ]
Drizzlepaw would flick his ear as he looked at her inquisitively Drizzlepaw's tail would also twitch the kit turned apprentices brain was trying to process what was happening. First she moved her mouth like he has seen other cats before do then she stopped playing with him only to raise her tail and flick it. Drizzlepaw didn't understand but he would copy the movement he saw the bigger she-cat do. Drizzlepaw felt like he saw this cat around the camp. But given the fact he didn't have a name to put to the face not that he realized even he had a name he didn't really try to communicate further. @squidz @Fish
That was unfortunate that Drizzlepaw would never be able to hear but she tried not to dwell on sadness too much. What she needed to do was take charge and teach Drizzlepaw the best that she could. "Well good thing I was starting to think of someways to communicate with the deaf. Nothing full fledged yet though." Adderstrike said as she looked to Drizzlepaw and wave the tip of her tail at him with a smile before looking back to Berryshine. "Thank you for taking the time to do this for me... Well mostly Drizzlepaw as he will be the one that gains the most from this."
"C'mon Drizzlepaw, let's go out to train." Adderstrike purred to him while motioning her tail to Drizzlepaw, then to herself.
[Funnily enough while I was trying to fall asleep the night after the meeting I was thinking of a whole language lol]
