Sharkhail was doing the patrol as normal before he smelt... Old milk? Suddenly the dots connected i his brain and he bolted to where the scent was. He poke his head into the bush and found... He had to hold himself from screaming out in dismay seeing motionless kits. He couldn't... His own kits... They might be like this...
"Hey the two of you, come over here now!" Sharkhail called out before he tried to pick up the still living kit.

Primroseadder had been following Sharkhail, staying close to Smolderpaw to keep an eye on him, whenever the patrol leader called out. Emerald hues landed on the kit, and they widened. The young warrior made her way over to Sharkhail's side, her ears twitching. ''What...?''
Primroseadder's gaze flicked from the tiny kit in between her Clanmates jaws to the two tiny, limp and unmoving kits that the living one had recently lay beside. Gaze softening, the small-statured she-cat sat down. ''Set him at my paws,'' She mewed softly to Sharkhail. The kit needed to be warmed up, and she was willing to do so. ''Should someone go and get Stormstar or Owltalon? Or even Cobwebfern and Berryshine?''
Smolderpaw had presumed that this patrol would be pretty easy-going, but as soon as he had heard Sharkhail calling to them, followed by the faintly familiar scent of stale milk, or at least something adjacent to it, his lips curled downwards into a tight frown. Toddling after Primroseadder, he peered at the kitten that now dangled from Sharkhail’s jaws.
“Uh–... um. I dunno… Sharkhail, what do we do?” His heart throbbed for the kittens, and his eyes shifted over the two unmoving ones as well. A sudden flash of familiar pelts appeared in his mind–his own sisters. He had been left behind once, too. “Have you two ever found kits in the territory before?”
Sharkhail narrowed his eyes as he thought about what was the right thing to do here. He so badly didn't want to leave this kit behind with the others, he couldn't leave them.. It would just be like his kits all over again. Yet warming up the kitten was currently the best idea so he relented, softly placing the kit on Primroseadder's paws. He then looked to Smolderpaw before shaking his head. "No... I have never seen such a horrible deed like this." He said silently cursing the caretakers of this kit.
"I don't think we should split up, we may end up a little late but who knows what will happened if-" He stopped himself short when he looked back down to the kit. Finishing that would just terrify the kit, so he sighed and begged for forgiveness as he got up close to Primroseadder to surround the kit. "Kid, tell us when your warm and then we will go where you can make friends." Hopefully Stormstar would be willing to take in kits during leafbare.
