"'Course I can pounce, even a kit knows that much..." she muttered the latter half of the sentence under her breath. There was no point upsetting Frostmelt with snide comments if she could avoid it, though holding her tongue was harder than the silver molly had anticipated. Silently, she follows behind her warrior escort and watches as he pounces on a mouse. It's not... quite a lesson, but she hungrily watches his moves, the way he keeps his body parallel to the ground, trying to drink in everything he was doing and commit it to memory. When he looks back to her she simply flicks an ear in acknowledgement of the demonstration and raises her nose to the sky to find something of her own to hunt down.

It's not long before the scent of another rodent fills her nose, and Wrenpaw is mimicking the way Frostmelt stalked his mouse, keeping her body low to the ground and her tail still behind her, mindful of the feathery fur that drops down from it in a curtain. Soon, she's locking eyes on a vole, scrabbling around in the dirt and grass and leaf litter. Wrenpaw takes a moment to examine it, to watch how it moves, but she doesn't waste another moment on that, because a breath later, she pounces. At first, she's almost convinced it's going to get away from her, but she digs her claws in further and makes a grab for its neck, killing the thing swiftly.

'Not too bad!' She thinks to herself as she carries her catch back to Frostmelt, awaiting his verdict while also putting her vole with his mouse. "How was that?" She asks him once her mouth is free of prey, clear blue eyes blinking at him in calm consultation. She knows she must have done well, but she stamps down on the pride bubbling in her chest. Pride could be her death one day, she's not letting it get out of paw now.

He gave a small smile to her. “That— was much better.. then I could usually do,” he mumbled quietly with a hint of happiness. He hadn’t really helped her but she did so well! He nodded to her and flicked his ear around to listen to any prey, then let his nose do the rest. The smell of a pigeon filled his scenes, he turned in the direction he smelt it and looked around. His ears flattened when he saw it in the tree. He took a deep breath and made his way to the tree, quietly. He stood in a shaded area covered by leaves, hopefully the pigeon couldn’t see him.

He slowly made his way onto the tree, closer… closer.. before pouncing on it and killing it swiftly. Be brought it back and waited for the apprentice.
