Gorsebird continued to let out soft purrs and coos and she groomed her daughter before looking down and letting out a loud shriek when she saw her eyes, "I-I-GaH!" She screeched nearly jumping out of the nest at the sight, "Y-your eye! It's h-h-hideous! You're hideous!" Gorsebird bawled fresh tears starting at the realization that something was wrong with her kitten.

Dawnkit mewed loudly at the sudden noise, trying to move away, she stumbled around being as vocal as possible trying to get away from her mother's loud cries. She began crying on her own, her sensitive ears hurting from the noise. She tripped over her paws and hit another queen while trying to walk away from the noise. Suddenly she couldn't smell her mother and began crying louder, mewing for her mother to find her.
All while this was going on, DawnKit's brain tried to figure out why her mother had called her 'hideous' when she opened her eyes instead of celebrating like she had with her brother. She began to attempt opening her eyes but couldn't see much when she did. She eventually found her mothers scent and stumbled back towards her stomach, afraid to go near her face.
