RowanMane’s jaw tightened just a fraction when DuskLeaf’a name came up. He didn’t say much at first—no need to stir old wounds louder than they already were—but the weight in his gaze said enough.

“DuskLeaf… he’s been through fire an’ back,” Rowan murmured, voice low and rough. “Made mistakes that nearly cos’ us all, no denyin’ tha’. Slippin’ up the clan’s safety… tha’s a hard thing t’ forgive.” He gave a short, bitter chuckle. “Bu’ he’s got pride. N’ stubbornness. Enough to claw his way back, even if it means earnin’ trust all over again. I didn’ work alongside him until more recently though, I only served BrokenStream when he was the head lionhear’.”

He shook his head slowly, eyes flickering to the horizon. “I don’t know if he’s the same cat as before. Maybe he’s better… maybe just wiser. But tha’ kind of fall… i’ leaves scars ya can’ hide.”
