Weepingpaw walked quietly into Spiderstar's den, meaning to talk with him. There was so much on his mind as of late, and he really just needed to get it off his chest. Maybe even explain why he had left the camp in the first place. "Spiderstar," the tom called into the den softly.

@Starfall

Spiderthroat
He/Him || ThunderClan Leader
Beefed Up Tier III || Just a Scratch || Hulk SMASH

The Calico looked up, seemed as though the den was already getting use. Also felt as though this was going to be a rather serious conversation. Ears perked, Spiderstar stopped shifting the minute things around. The den half folded in on itself.

"What's up?"

Brackenclaw had felt like he had held onto this information for too long but he also knew he needed to tell the leadership what had happened regardless of what he would experience as far as any repercussions. Brackenclaw would accept his fate. The Otters were so much trouble and even costed Thunderclan their leader and a new leadership to step up. Brackenclaw hadn't spoke with Spiderstar much at all but he was Thunderclan's new leader and that meant Brackenclaw was to report to him. He would walk towards the Leaders den and dip his head respectfully keeping it low as he spoke. "Spiderstar may we speak? I need to report some things while they happened during the Otter situation I felt like the immediate issues over ruled these issues. And I reacted accordingly waiting to be able to report them to you." Brackenclaw would call out his dark deep voice remaining respectful. As the large Maine Coon kept his head dipped till he got a response. @Starfall - Spiderstar

The tom narrowed his eyes as a rather absent hornet came in. Ears angled forwards as he immediately began to make excuses. He hadn't even heard what the thing was yet. Surely, if it got put off for so long, than it wasn't that important.

"Speak." was all he uttered. Tail flicking back and fourth as he waited for something to be said.

The dilute tortie left the leaf bundle behind and complied wordlessly, leaving the brown tabby to the task alone. Oh stars, how was he supposed to do this? He cleared his throat, bad news was never his forté. He liked delivering good news. Everycat loves good news! "H-Hey um...Spiderstar? He called into the den, sighing as he realized the waver in his voice probably gave away the nature of his news. "So...I was out teaching Sunrisepaw some basics about hunting and we...well we stumbled on Raccoonhowl's body." Well, there was part one of the story.

"And well...it looks like...well it looks like she didn't die from natural causes..." At this, Acornfall lifted the bundle with the fur inside it, and stepped into the den further. Wanting to keep this from prying eyes, he didn't want the clan panicking with speculation about who killed Raccoonhowl. He unfolded the leaf, revealed the fur he'd pried from the warrior's claws. "I found this clutched in her claws...it looks like she tried to grab evidence of whoever killed her, but it's too generic and old to know for sure." He explained, sighing heavily. More things ThunderClan didn't need right now. "All I could tell from it was that...it looks like cat fur. But the body is at least a couple sunrises old." The only scent he could grab from it was the scent of death.

He looked up at Spiderstar, eyes glittering with grief. Not necessarily for Racoonhowl, he didn't know her well. Yes, she was a clanmate, and he grieved that loss. But he also grieved for the trauma Sunrisepaw now would have to deal with from having found the body in that...state. Not to mention the grief he felt for the clan as a whole. Why now? Everycat was so focused on the otters...it was almost like...but no. Now was not the time to be pointing paws and suspicions at clanmates. Now more than ever, the clan needed to band together. And there was no evidence that a cat from another clan committed the act either, so no point pointing claws and fangs across their borders. It was...a mystery. "I couldn't find any evidence pointing to another clan, but scavengers have already started at the body..." He let his voice trail off, expecting the experienced cat before him to understand what that meant when it came to a corpse.

"I can take the body and bury it, but I just wanted to check in with you first. And...and bring the -paw back home." Sunrisepaw. One of Larkswoop's kits. Of all the -paws, it had to be her. Stars, hadn't that litter suffered enough? He'd need to take another warrior to help him bury Racoonhowl, and he'd get right to that. The less time the body sat in the camp, the better. He just...didn't know what else to do. Getting Sunrisepaw home and reporting this incident to Spiderstar seemed like the most important thing, and he didn't want to just leave the body there to be picked off from more like carrion. The fact that she was left out there as long as she was...well it filled his heart with rage and even more grief. No clanmate deserved that. He just hoped he prioritized things correctly here...and patiently waited for Spiderstar to take it all in and issue orders.

His first den entry as Leader. And it was this. His eyes narrowed as he listened to everything Acornfall had said. After gathering everything in, the leader did nothing more than let out a hefty sigh.

"It ain't gonna be fun. But you're first n foremost on this investigation. That fur will stay in this den. But, you're free to come and take a look at it whenever needed...I'm gonna need you , an I'm gonna trust ya , to find the one who killed raccoon." a pause as he got up to move a rock over, a decently sized divot hidden behind. Nothing extravagant, just a dip in the floor, enough to hold fur with out crushing it.

"Stick it there. If all the hints are pointin to one of our own. I want the rotten root dealt with. Immediately. The moment you find em. Or you're confident on who it is. Come n tell me...we'll take em out back. You'll be my witness." he was cut, dry and to the point. No need to dance around it. He'd cut off any foul roots if it meant the tree continued to grow and thrive.

No Spruce Beetles allowed.

"Go bury Raccoonhowl...an I'll let the clan now here once enough has settled down."
