oh i think jackdawcrest will adore teaching her, in his way {: but the more she expresses an interest in going above and beyond, the more pressure he'll feel inclined to put on her. if sprucepaw wants to be the very best, then jackdawcrest will make sure that she gets what she wants, no takesies-backsies.

!!! absolutely yes on both counts. i think jackdaw would cherish the both of them—this might cause more harm than good.

regarding irisdream's recent departure from her mother's teachings: jackdawcrest may not initially accuse her of wrongdoing (he'd like her enough not to cause problems outright for now), but he will remind her, maybe annoyingly often, of what she's moving away from and what a shame that is. he just wouldn't understand why she might do that, would be entirely blind to the harm that was inflicted on her. every external factor under the sun will be blamed first. poor duskleaf may end up scapegoated, even.

i imagine jackdawcrest thinks he's wonderful with younger ranks (most likely just find him weird or boring) so this, and Kitepaw being family to his mentor and blessed by such an upstanding lineage, would be motivation enough for him to have gone and positioned himself as a would-be role model of sorts. at the very least, someone to keep her company and keep her on the 'right track', especially in recent days. it's just awful, this phase that irisdream has got herself into as of late, and jackdawcrest is so sure that the both of them would appreciate his efforts to keep kitepaw from erring in the same way until his mentor has sorted herself out again.
