Seapaw
he/they - 13 moons
Go with the flow, Mind Reader
Seapaw yawned a little yawn, gently grooming his fur in the clearing. They were up pretty early today, in Seapaw terms, at least. Any Dawn patrols had already gone out, but they weren't back in yet. He'd count that as a success. Their tail swished around their paws, and they began to pull any pieces of moss from it. Bits and pieces didn't often get stuck in his fur, it was far too sleek, but his tail was a different story. They reckoned they must toss and turn in their sleep to cause such a mess. All that vivid dreaming. What had he been dreaming about again? Hmmm. He closed his eyes, thinking back. Oh, swimming! Of course, it was. The usual. This time, they'd dreamed of exploring the rapids, being guided by the sharp currents, going fast as ever. It sure seemed exciting. No doubt it was brought on by his chat with Spiderpaw, about rapids.
Maybe he should do something about that, actually. Their eye blinked open, to a beam of sunshine across the camp. How nice. They yawned again, before scouting the clearing for a warrior - someone to take them for a swim. Who was that again? The brown tom? Deerspark, wasn't it? Somewhere, in the back of their memory, they could remember some kind of interaction with him when they were a small kit - what was it again? Hmmm. Sometime before they moved to the mountains - then it hit them. They'd travelled to the mountains on Deerspark's back, hadn't they? It was a buried memory, with how long it'd been, but a good think had resurfaced it. Well, that was that. Deerspark was definitely a kind soul, so the perfect kind of cat to pick on for training.
The apprentice wandered over, ears perked happily. "Hello!" He greeted the warrior warmly, "Sorry to bother you - I was just wondering if you'd be free to give me a swimming lesson, maybe? I already know the basics." Requesting training from random warriors had become easier and easier. Strange, he'd been so confident talking to warriors as a kit, but there was a brief time, as a younger apprentice, when it made him very nervous. Maybe they should think about it more sometime - but for now, they should probably try to focus on the moment, in case they missed Deerspark's reply.
@Marigoldwhisper - Deerspark!
