Smokefern knew it wasn't the best idea to give Mosstangle hope that he brother was out there still. When that sort of hope faltered, it could be even more crushing. Yet, she couldn't help but feel relief when the tabby found some confidence in those words. And really, they both knew so little about what happened that anything could be possible.
The scent of another cat caught her nose right around the same time as Mosstsngle. Smokfern's head tilted ever so slightly in confusion. Then Mosstangle shot off, leaving Smokefern to catch up. She bounded behind her, the scent growing ever stronger. She slowed down as they approached the border. If he was here, then she better find that stash of prey in leafbare. Smokefern's eyes narrowed as she padded along the border, scanning for any signs of the missing cat.
