"surely" owlthroat was right, if he knew anything, there would soon be another battle. or at the very least a border skirmish.

rookfire eyed sleepy as she mixed comfrey and chervil. a choice he himself wouldnt have made but accepted as the young medicine cat simply experimenting in a non problematic sense. it was clear there was some curiosity in owlthroat, rook was well aware that he'd been giving rather cryptic replies but it was getting late and the challenge had worn him out more than every day duties did. he'd have to rest if he wanted to function to standard the next sunrise. besides, it wasnt really a secret that he had taken quite the beating in the riverclan raid, a broken shoulder was hard to miss if you saw it. though, maybe that was the medicine cat in him speaking. perhaps owlthroat had put his moons long limping down to rook being dramatic and nothing else. hmm he preferred the version in which the older tom was simply unaware enough of his surroundings to have not noticed rookfire at all until he was healed up again.

'stay put' "im not keen on eating all your herbs no worries" rookfire huffed, staying put where she had left him. there wasnt really anything he could do with the poultice slathered along his ribs anyway. not without losing all of it. he was no fool, and a almost fully trained medicine cat on top of that.

"i should be fine" he waved off, while the medicine den was still preferred to the warriors den, still, he didnt fancy waking up to her hovering over him in freakish silence. sleep was his alone time. if she wanted to be weird she would have to come outside and climb into his tree.

"it doesnt hurt but you can take a look if you want" rookfire offered, knowing sleepysunrise - or maybe his own curiosity projected onto her - well enough that she'd be interested in finding out more about this new problem that may arise again in the future. the newly reinstated enforcer leaned down a bit before opening his maw, lips pulled back to allow her a clear view of all his teeth.
