All seemed to be in order, so she began walking back to camp. She didn’t want anyone to ask too much about her singular catch, so she decided it was best to get moving. It was only a short walk back from Willows Rise, which she was thankful for.
Once she arrived in the clearing, she saw Risingstorm. She guessed this must be the same as herb and border patrols:report to the cat that sent them out. So, she made strutted her way over, then placed her mouse at her paws. Now came the hard part.
“Hey Risingstorm! Sorry it’s just the one… “ She paused, remembering the
exaggeration lie she’d given Rosepaw about the mouse being real fast. But, she decided it wasn’t worth lying to Risingstorm. Despite how embarrassed she was. She cared about her peers’ opinions, she needed to look cool to them. But she reckoned with warriors, honesty was important, or something along those lines. She wasn’t really sure, but she really didn’t wanna get in trouble for lying.
“It’s, err, my first catch. I still need to work on my hunting.” Agh - she couldn’t stand admitting that, but she had to. She glanced over her shoulder, hoping Rosepaw wasn’t there to hear it.
