Mallowswarm

Soon Cicadapaw arrived, and Fernwhisper spoke, saying that they should get going. The other warrior looked at her, and for a moment Mallowswarm wondered why she was not just heading out, before realising that, as the patrol leader, she was supposed to lead the way. Of course. She must have waited too long, because from behind her Orangepaw asked if they could leave now. "Yeah, let's go," she replied quickly, feeling her face heat up with embarrassment. With that, Mallowswarm padded out of camp (it felt strange to have the rest of the patrol behind her; she was used to following behind cats, not leading them) and started walking towards Willow's Rise.

The cemetery was eerily quiet. A hush had fallen over the area; the only thing Mallowswarm could hear was the patrol's pawsteps. When she looked up, she could see a dark cloud blotting out the sky. It was only a sign of incoming rain, but it made her fur prickle. She didn't know if it was because of the silence or the fact that this was a graveyard they were standing in, but she suddenly wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Not yet, though. She had a patrol to complete first. Trying to ignore the unease that twinged in her chest, she cast her gaze around for cobwebs or moss. Soon enough, her eyes caught on the latter, growing on a rock; she scraped it off, taking care not to shred it. There wasn't a lot, but it was something, and she was sure her patrolmates would find more. Mallowswarm picked the moss up and moved on.
