The Fool

Now this was starting to look good, Bramblekit certainly didn’t come back empty pawed. He came bearing plenty of good additions to the battlefield which was now becoming increasingly more complex as time went on. Wet moss lining, then obstacles, this was just perfect.

Pikekit grasped some of the tiny twigs in his mouth and set them in place, it sort of looked like a miniature forest. ”You’re a genius Bramblekit! This looks soOOOOOooo cool! I think it’s perfect, we just gotta find some new fighters. I think the two we had ran away…” He giggled and swept a paw through his fur over his head. ”I’ll have a look over here, maybe we can build some way of holding them if we collect a lot? That way they can all stay safe whilst they wait?” He wasn’t entirely sure yet how he was going to do that, but he was certain that Bramblekit would have another brilliant idea.

He dipped his head into the reeds and the brush once more, Pikekit found himself lifting up rocks and moving all sorts out of the way until he eventually found his perfect fighters.

One long centipede which had more legs than he could count, but despite this it was rather small. A lovely golden brown in colour.

One colossal sized snail with a rather tough shell, not technically a bug but hey, they were similar enough.

And finally a glinting black beetle with rather ferocious looking horns, it was huge. It looked all big and scary. It was his prize fighter and he knew he was going to save it for last.

He picked them all clumsily, balancing them between mouth and paw. Finally setting them down next to the arena. Waiting excitedly to see what Bramblekit would bring. In the meantime he finally came to the conclusion of his problem, digging small holes for each critter, deep enough so that they couldn’t crawl out and they would be held securely until the time came to fight. He left a few open for Bramblekit’s fighters, hopefully that would hold them.
