Spiderpaw's ears drooped at the news of Fadedwish and Redsurge. She had never really interacted with them, but it was sad to hear about the deaths of her clanmates. How could they just... die? What was "Natural causes", anyway? How could it be natural to have some unknown health condition that could kill? A quiet death sounded... sad. The young tabby looked down at her paws during the moment of silence, praying to starclan that neither of them had suffered.

Spiderpaw didn't look up immediately as Owlstar announced the new members of the clan. She had no idea who any of them were and... well, it was a bit scary to think about introducing herself. What if they didn't like her? What if she didn't introduce herself and they hated her for it? Oh, there really were no right answers, were there? She just tried to remember their names and lifted her head to quietly chant their names with the clan. Deceptionpaw, Shadowedcall, and Vervainshadow.

The young tabby tilted her head at the mention of Smallpines. That was the last place she had gone with her mentor, only going so far on her territory tour with Hollylynx. What if Hollylynx had also died of "natural causes", but no one knew yet? It made Spiderpaw's heart race to think about. No, no, no. Don't think about that.
