...What? Mossfreckle was gone, just like that? Claws dug into the ground like roots, as he listened to Dawnstar speak.They wouldn't be hunting him down? They'd simply presume him dead? It seemed entirely illogical. They'd lost such a capable medicine cat, just like that. Despite how much it upset him, he'd never challenege Dawnstar. So, he'd tear at the ground below him instead (subtly, of course).

Then the omen. Maybe it simply meant Rookfire was more of a fighter, just like them. That made the most sense, right? His nature led him to the path or a warrior and an enforcer, a medicine cat could never harbour such a nature. That had to be it. "I agree with Briarsplash." He commented, having to try extra hard to stop his voice from wavering. "Rookfire was always a capable enforcer." He had to admit, there was an ebbing fear as he said this. What if he was wrong? What if the prophecy meant the tom was a danger to the clan as a whole? "But, Sleepysunrise is also right, it would be a good idea to monitor him..." He bit his tongue, fighting the urge to say 'who knows what that prophecy could mean'. It didn't feel his place to say as much. Not yet, at least.

As for a new medicine cat, he had no idea. As long as it wasn't him, he reckoned he'd be happy. Sleepysunrise suggested herself, thankfully. She seemed a good fit. Dedicated and quiet. That's what he'd come to expect from a medic. Then the owls.

"I'd normally suggest ambush, but that might not work with Owls. They're hunters just like us, perceptive. Night hunters too, I belive? Perhaps we should attack in the middle of the day, when it's brightest." His tail flickered anxiously, that's all he had to suggest. Owlthroat was right in suggesting bigger cats, though he wasn't happy with how that affected him. He'd love to sink his teeth into their feathers, but he had to admit he was on the smaller side.
