He was thankful to be away from the scene. The walk back was quick, easy - as though they’d magically appeared in camp. Anyhting was easy in comparison to dodging squirrels of all things.

But… What to report? Should he even mention the squirrels? He supposed it was unusual, and anything unusual was worth mentioning. He approached Mistlewhisker, giving the report.
“The border was quiet. Nothing unusual apart from some… Overactive squirrels throwing acorns? Maybe the incoming leafbare’s messing with their brains.” He paused for a moment, “the apprentices were well behaved. They did a good job.”
